Transfer case mounts. This one is a little overkill, but I didn't like that the gcm tranfercase only had one tiny screw holding the whole thing together. That's asking for destruction in my opinion. So I made this mount pretty stout and bolts to both sides, squeezing the case halves together. They aren't through bolted, but the mount is stiff as heck and fit's tight. Should be good enugh. Mount weighs 7.9 grams. Pics. |

The front is sprung! The back is going to be difficult, there's no room for shocks. Thinking about putting them behind the axle. Theres a nice little pocket in the body for them here. Just waiting for the ideas to pop in my head on how to make mounts. Ah pics |

Well we decided to quit playing around and ditch the back seat. She feels bad about it, but heck, it's a jeep not a school bus. Should make things muuuuch easier.

More work. I liked all the ideas floating around about the hinged bodies, so I spent a considerable amount of time trying to come up with a good solution. I needed a back bumper, a hinge, and a body mount, so here is what I made. You can see that I also made some nerf bars. I plan to tie those into the back bumper and shock hoop with a tube flare. Well I hope it works out that way! |

So I made this fender flare. I don't know if I am sold on these or not. I definitely want tubing from the nerf bar to the bumper, but I'm not sure if I like the flare style with the sheet metal or not. Looking kinda ghetto I think, I dunno, maybe just a little to much with those. Might just run a tube along the body cutout and omit the flare part. What do yall think, Little to goofy? |

I added in a few braces and kind of made a little battery box, if you will. I think I'll just run one 1300mah in there but I actually have room to double stack 2 in there, just barely. Brazed a couple plates to the nerf bars for the esc and the receiver on the other side. I just wired up a hobby wing 1080 and a rc4wd 35 turn with a 10 tooth pinion. This is my first time with cheap brushed motors. My other rig has a tekin set up in it. The rcwrd motor has almost no resistance when you spin it. You can't feel the magnets at all really. After I wired it up, I took it for a spin this evening, inside on the carpet, real low speed creeping around the house for about 10 or 15 minutes. The motor is quite hot and the esc is pretty warm itself. With a 10 tooth pinion I expected no heat out of anything at all... is this happening because of the crap motor I threw in here? My other rig with the tekin motor and esc has a 16 tooth pinion and doesn't run nearly as hot. The rig is lighter of coarse. Should I ditch the rc4wd motor? Other than the heat, it seems to run good and have good power and speed. |

I guess my question is, do cheap crap motors tend to build a lot of heat compared to a quality motor?

thank you sir. i guess they are never done, and this one certainly isn't either. eventually i will finish the tubing flares, and i will definitely make a cage for it at some point in time. I'm going to roll the thing for a while with the top on it and tweek a few things like shocks mainly. i need to put oil in them and im thinking about an internal spring to keep the front from unloading so bad. here is another video with the body on this time. i assume the heat problem with my electronics is is just kind of a byproduct of my setup. weak lower turn motor, fairly heavy rig, over driven front axle, and i am not using a bec, on 3s. even tho i used a 10 tooth pinion with a 87 spur, im probably pushing the stuff a little hard. i only used the 10 tooth pinion because its what i had on hand. i fully intended to use a 14 tooth or so. eventually i will get a better motor and see what changes that makes. Thanks buddy. These bodies are great for what they are! I can work with steel ok, but i dont think id have the paitents or the knowhow to do the custom body work like some of these guys do. This body cures all my problems in that way! I already want 2 more..
