| Re: Super scale from JDMODEL Ford F150 That's what I was saying earlier, they're not known for being economically priced. Their RC3WD stuff is prohibitively expensive from my wallet. But this one won't have a hydraulic pump and cylinders, so it's hard to say where they'll price point it...no precedent.

A lot of that truck looks like its in prototype phase. I wouldn't put too much weight on those pics yet. Wait until the official release.

so will it be released in USA by rc4wd? wonder if they will have it ready in time for the holidays? as for not being a rock crawler... i think i would do better with this than with my 1.55 tniytire 79 F150. that thing was a PITA at proline. but you know what? I HAD A BLAST!!! |

These are the same guys that made the dakar rally truck for rc4wd. That said, if this truck wins the proline by the fire show and shine, I'll eat my ascender shirt. Now excuse me while I figure out how to afford one. Just realized that's a tamiya motor in there haha Fine with me! Until I upgrade to a holmes brushless...? Being a C1 guy myself this dont look all that bad, i dont mind have a skid way lover than the other guys with the way gates are put in the terrain we have here. Dont get me wrong i like the big ass tall tires too, but on rigs like bomber wraith and specialized offroaders / truggy style builds. But i am more into cars that you would stand a chance to see on Danish streets, and while it do look like cops do let slightly larger tires slide, then really under the law you can not change your ride hight ( up or down ) with more than a inch or maybe 2. I would not mind giving one of these a try,,, but mark my word "giving" cuz this are not something i would be able to go for anytime soon. That being said it should have been much larger, i want a scaler that can carry a 6 pack in the bed, and still crawl fairly good. |

I agree. The appeal of this truck is how it would be to get a 1:1 new from the dealership, Then try to modify it to see how you can improve it. I see this as not much different than a trailfinder 2 with leafs. People say "oh its a leaf truck it can't crawl" False. Yes it takes mods and wont be able to do ALL of the things a linked truck can, but it can get real close. I see this truck in the same light. I would love to get one of these and see what somebody like Natedog could do to it as fas as tweaking it for efficiency. I would wheel it once and ask myself "WWNDD?" I really want to give this truck a shot. Imagine with longer shocks and slightly larger tires... Maybe looking to 1:1 f150 to see what people do to them. Very interested. Anpther thing for your idea box: Looks like without the body it's pretty much fair game for anything else with a wheelbase in the same ballpark. Or handy fabricators who could relocate leaf mounts for adjustments. I think this truck is very capable of opening new doors in this hobby. I just hope it gets some aftermarket love. Upgrades would really make it shine. (KNK, SSD, GCM, I'm looking at YOU!) Last edited by Shinchu; 10-28-2018 at 08:56 AM. |

its leafed and has ifs. you will be able to get the rear to flex easy. but with the ifs.. you get limited by the front suspension and what your brain can calculate. this is strictly a class 0 capable rig. it wont get top spot in a class 1 event, nor top 10 or 20. class 1 courses are like the class 2 courses of 2012 now. the courses get harder and harder every year.

Well that's all great news to me... I dont comp ;) ...yet? But seriously I wouldn't expect this rig to go crushing courses. Its just something fun and challenging. If you want a capable rig in this price range, this isnt the one. Best look to the trx4 or vs4-10. I'm still in to see what upgrades and aftetmarket support there will be. |

i still haven't seen any pics of that engine IN the truck. im still skeptical but maybe it will be offered later as an upgrade? really looks like it would accept any scale trans/motor from either RC4WD or GCM. sort of costly but would complete the scale factor for sure. i just need to figure out how i would lift the front maybe 10mm. rear should be easy with lift blocks and longer U bolts. |

10mm is quite a lot for a scale look. Maybe some prerunner fenders and a long travel IFS then some bigger tires.
