This will prolly start war but...... due to the overwhelming amount of awsome scale toyota builds i could help but wonder why few are representing good ole american iron. I have begun the scale build that WILL rival all those little foriegn toys. Plus with all these "pros" ganging up i think its time to show what one newer member can do in comparison. Clod body(chevy): Full interior, filled hood, lights, real side trim, southern style brushgaurd(not those crazy tube jobs), dropped bed with dimond plate tool box, workin tailgate. Chassis: i have a bruiser but im selling it in favor of a chassis built to replicate a real 87 chevy frame, diaz leaf setup with revolver shackle in rear. Driveline: R2 tranny, hypierion/mamba, maxx shafts, and tlt axles shaved to hell and back. Wheels: eventually rc4wd true scale classics(once i convince myself to drop that much $ in rims, still killing myself over the brushless), 1.9 g-hawgs cut to tsl's. Extras: Trailer hitch, exhaust, steering stabilizers, and much more..... it'll be scale as hell and be a exact copy of my uncles truck. i have most of the parts so now its time to see if i can at least give those "pro builders", a run for their money. I think if you really want to go "good ole american iron", you should go with all US-made components. hehehe - Chris |

pics are coming guys and thanks 1Badjeepbruiser. you other rig is part of my inspiration. i really want to replicate my uncles truck in memory of it since it just got totaled. oh well it'll get built into a 1:1 trail rig and we'll have this to remember it by. thats all for now.

niiice a working tailgate! i was wondering how to do that to mine. also, i got a frame bent up for that body, (if its single cab long bed) and you just need to cut it in half if you want it. you said you got all the parts but hey? maybe you want it. or i could trick it out like mine you saw just like the real ones where the front shackle is inside and outside of the rails. i LOVE chevy builds and i cant wait for some progress on this one!

thanks for the offer but im building one up just for this truck. it will be a standard cab short bed so i may end up shortening the bed a little on this build.

Now how long til we actually see something? I thought the "I am going to build something someday threads" had stopped. Don't take it personally, one of those red star guys would have moved it already if they wanted to. |

oh goat there are those exceptions. i love the old scout. aight i know i know got to give yall something but its gonna start kinda slow. i am building a tuber for a member on here, also bulding a roof rack for another and tring to get started on a business venture. lets just say look for a new builder in the vendors section. but i will let yall see a little. ive been working on shaving the axle. i want to get it as scale as possible cause face it guys these tlt axles look like crap all squared out and stuff. shaving as much as possible off. right now im turning down the tlt shocks, and working on some sort of scale steering stabilizers. scale stuff(thats a real rc truck, its getting added in there somewhere) and basiclly what im shooting for |
