Thank you Travis. I ended up making some nice progress yesterday. I added the tailgate and lower license valance. Let all that set up and hit everything with some 400. I also knocked out my front and rear bumper frame mounts.

Looking good man. Seeing this pushed me to get out my old Xtracab body and turn it into a class 3 rig.

Thank you my brother. I take my time. I’ve bobbed a pile of these little rigs over the years. This one is definitely clean.

Small update. I started cleaning, cutting and bending metal for this little truck.

Progress……. I managed to get the front and rear bumpers started. I still plan on adding to both ends. The bases are fully welded.

Bumpers look good travis! Nicely tucked up out of the way. Awaiting your color scheme for this one

Thank you Indy…… I managed to get a bit more done on the bumpers. The rear needs a little something more.

By any chance have you tried fitting the interior in this? I’m curious as to how it fits around the vfd

To be honest I had never planned on running the interior in the factory location. With me using the VP slider floor floor bases it would be super easy to run some say 6mm spacers and a custom lexan floor that would be flush with the door opening. Or you could always trim the sides off the factory interior and do the same. I will be starting on the body after I button up the body protectors. Speaking of body protection I believe I came up with a fairly simple method of incorporating steel sliders while maintaining the factory VP slider bases and the 3d printed body mount. The body mount combo doesn’t leave many areas to tie into. I also want to keep the bolt on armor theme and not weld to the VP frame. Sooooooo.

I wanted a kick out to aid in keeping this body clean.

I what you do for me.

I have the same body. I bobbed the front and back of the bed to bet it to fit the way I wanted it. I had it mounted with a skid rocker mounting set up but I think I am going to go with posts through the hood. I am wanting t do this to lower the body and allow a little susp movement on the body. The tires rub and I don't want to give up the upwards susp movement so I want the body to be able to move a bit.

I am replacing the doors with styrene half doors and probably the hood and bed with styrene also. The stock doors are over 2 ounces each. I can probably save another 2 ounces replacing on the bed and hood.

Mine is for C1 and the added weight really affects the performance.
