What time is it? 5pm saturday evening?

I will probably run two motors. If I make the connector to short out the EVX for one battery can I still run two motors in parallel off a 6 or 7 cell pack?

I want two motors because I'll be building a trailer after I get this thing done

Little bit of an update. It's not a roller without drive shafts. I'm pleased so far. I need to change the front upper shock mounts. Since they are mounted on hte outside of the frame rail they rub the springs. I'm going to chop off the bottom of the mount and mount it to the top side of the frame rail using angle. That should give me clearence. I'll also be getting losi springs. These are way to stiff. Anyway, here are the pics.

Looks good Nick. Stick with two motors that way you can still tear a$$ around and have some fun.

What are you going to do for paint on the lid?

I ended up switching over to TLT shocks. The maxx shocks were to big and were catching on the tires at full steering. The TLT shocks look cooler too.

I'm going to pick up two 55t lathes today. No idea what gearing to run. Probably some 16t pinions or so. I'm guessing it'll be pretty slow with the 55t motors. For now i'll be running a normal stick pack but I'll end up getting a 2S lipo. I've got the lipo bug!

As for the lid. I'm thinking just a plain solid silver. It'll look good with the black trim. Plus I plan on making some scale parts for it. Bumpers, roof rack, spare tire carrier, etc....

A little progress at lunchtime. I finished up the steering. Didn't mount the 2 speed servo because there wasn't room where I wanted to mount it. The top links would hit so Im going to pick up some universal servo mounts at the LHS today and just mount it ontop of the frame rail.

Mandatory flex shot (minus battery and motor weight) .

And now it's looking like a truck. I really need to get some different shocks. Not sure what though. These TLT shocks are not enough to hold up the truck. It's at about %40 sag in the pics and the battery and other motor isn't in there.

I had NO IDEA what gearing or motor to run. I wanted (2) 55t lathes but the LHS only had (1) 55t and (1) 35t so I picked up both. I'll use on motor for now to see the speeds. I'm running a 72t spur and 12t pinion.
I'm hoping to clean up the body today and start painting that early next week.

well onto the pics.

doesnt look like it is sagging to bad you can always add some preload to the springs if you had to to bring it back up. how long do you think it will be before you have 2.2 on that beast. needs some tube work to set that body off

No sag huh? Check this out

I definitely need some different shocks. I'm thinking I'll end up going with Maxx shocks. I had some clearence issues when first trying them but I think I have it figured out now. Here are some new pics of the electronics tray I built. I did get to run it. It's a little on the slow side for my liking. I think I'll just change gearing options though. It has GOBS of torque. Can't wait to see it with that second lathe!

I say leave the track width as it is, I like it better that way. I think once you get some paint on that thing it will look really good.

what do you mean leave the track width? Leave it as is in the last pics? I never planned on changing it. They TLT axles are running black foot stub axles with a bushing spacer. That widened the track width a bit but I like where its at now.

Took it out for a test drive today. Front suspension is decent after swapping out to maxx shocks and springs. The rear is way to stiff. Looks like I'll have to go to losi springs.

Thanks!

Picked up losi springs last night along with a blue bird 630mg servo. Hopefully that fixes my steering. Or lack of steering I should say.

here you start with the cad again lol....awsome work, i thought the 1.9 tires would be way to small for that big body, but it acually looks really good..

how long did it take you to get that good on a cad?...i found turbo cad laying im my dads computer desk, so i poped it in and took a shot at it, for the first 15 min of using it, i though it came out good, the pictures are up in my hilux build check it out...i had no idea how to use it, but i tought myself how, what do you think?
