the servo you could mount were the radiator is just make a cover to fit it that looks like a radiator.
That was the idea I had but I'm thinking of a transfer rod arrangement. I will have to work it out. I have also seen a small motor driven double ended ram assembly.

That is an awesome looking tire but I like the Rock Crushers.

With this. It is RC4WD's 25:1 planetary transmission. A 55t on 3s should do nicely. It will have a final drive of 63.25:1.

Tires mounted.

I'm getting excited.

I need to drop a 220 line to power my TIG welder. Sunday I should be able to start putting her together.

Well I got my TIG welder Chicago Electric (Harbor Freight $200) I ran into a problem. The bottle adapter that came in the box does not fit my bottle and Airgas was closed so I need to wait to get it Mon.

I need to practice with the tig on this little steel tube. I just cant seem to get the amps set just right. And yea it's a scratch start. I usually end up melting the end of the tube. Any way I busted out the old wire Mig for progress sakes and got a bit done.

It looks like hot ass right now but I'm finally making progress
I'm not feeling the nose. I will need to get more of the tubing in place so I can get the right angle. It seems to steep to me.

it looks like it slopes down too much. but i rember it at that phase. thats when puffdragon started callin it the humpyy hump. LOL

i'll see if i can get you some angles and lengths for the hoodline.

heres a good side-view of it. you can see the hood @ the b-pilar is only about 6" above the rear door-bar and about level with that rear door bar at the tip of the nose

if you need more pics of anything, every one i;ve taken can be found here and here

diggin it

Here are a few teaser shots.

It will be a 4 seater but I may have to compromise on the portal axles. I will run the RC4WD planetary trans and killer transfer case, to get as close to the original as possible.

where did u get all the tubing from ? in the one picture

Sceep that would be a great help. I went thru a lot of trial and error befor I got my other rig looking right. I think the part of the nose where it curves up is not high enough and the nose to A piller is too high. I will get it worked out.

My father is a machine tool pipefitter. Where he works they get rid of tubing that has any signs of rust on the inside. So when they were throwing it out he cut up about 100' of it and brought it home.

3/16" tubing is not too expensive. The amount I have would only cost about $50.

Man, need that double ended ram assembly you posted earlier. That would be perfect to match the full hydraulic steering on my 1:1! Wonder how much it is? And I wonder if it would work for a steering setup...response, throw, that type of thing.

Default I really like

the drive train. I think that my new hard bodied D90 should get this in it's build this next winter. I'm building a 1:9 build to go with my 2.2 Bronco.

i'll see what i can do. in the meantime, remember that tire is a true 48" across. you could make up a small scale using that as a baseline measurement.

it finally rolled out under its own power last week. heres some inspiration for you.
