Yes. 2S offers much smoother low speed control but lacks wheel speed. That's why I put the shifter in, so when I got through a jumbled rock section and needed wheelspeed to bounce over something or make a loose climb I'd have the option.

Tommy, it's a Kimbrough gear for the Associated NTC3. The 50 tooth is Associated part number 2264.

not trying to thread jack, but can you switch from 2s to 4s on the fly?

Also, I didn't notice any difference in low speed crawling between 2 cell and 3 cell on my Bronco, maybe there's more of a difference between 2 and 4 cell?

I've been working a little bit on the new rig. Trying to get enough done that I can try out the motor/esc this weekend. Kind of going to be temporarily put together for now, I need to see how I like the new motor and gearing before I get too much farther into it.

Looking good Tim, I hope that axial trans can hold up. BTW, are you still keeping the EB too?

That's it? Those UTards can build 3 rigs in one afternoon and all you have after a week is two pieces of pipe?

This is going to be EPIC.

Really curious how that combo works out for you.I am not happy with the current tranny/gearing/motor combo set up in my new truck.

The trans is as built as it can be so cross your fingers.

I'm temporarily robbing parts off the EB for now....but I can put it back together if I need it for a comp. The Bronco will be retired, but will resurface somewhere down the line.

It's actually farther along than that. I'd be done too if I just took an SCX10 and put a cage on it .

I've been using a 54T, I'll have to find that 50T. Good info Tim.

Yes, you have to pause a few seconds to allow the auto-LiPo to reset though. Think of it more like shifting a transfer case than a transmission.

So glad you asked....

A little update.....I've been working on this here and there. Waiting for my wife to have a baby. I've had some issues with fitting everything in here, but I took it for a test run a couple weeks ago and it was geared way too high. Pulled the front tire from a rolling start, and did at least 15 mph.....unfortunately right into my Yukon rear tire in the driveway. Bent the hell out of the frame, but I got it fixed. I've mostly been working on the front and rear suspension and steering. here's what I have so far.....

Front linkage, note the wicked panhard bar.

Rear linkage.

Got steering?

Rear steering.

Still need to make my chassis mount for the rear panhard bar...but it's coming along.

Which aluminum axles are those and have they held up to the abuse pretty good?
