yeah. the more i see it together the more i want to cut them down. they really arent wider then the cab in total. but they are way wider than the fenders on the cab, if you know what i mean.

narrowed each side by about 3/8" and also angled the ends up some. think it looks WAY better. now i need to start making some very cool scale accessories for the back end. nice little box where a chain, and tools can just sit in. big fuel cell, and a large wooden ammo box. here are the pics. imagine the black box as a jerry can. and away you go. it would get filled with the elecs. some sort of tool box on the other side for the esc. Hoosierdaddy even gave me an awesome idea of making some sort of headache rack that i could braze to the bed once i get it all figured out. |

did you hand fabricate this whole thing? Like bend and braze the frame, and everything? I want a deuce for my collection and would be interested in doing something like this. Your the second person I've seen build a deuce. The other guy built a military style 3 axle looks like the real deal. Please let me know thanks. My bad didn't read the whole thing just skimmed mostly looking at the pictures. Can you give me a few pointers on the frame and all the tube work you did? Again I love the old deuces, they are amazing. Last edited by OllllO Fanatic; 10-13-2012 at 08:36 PM. |

thanks for the compliments man. I built the whole thing from scratch. i used some 1/2" steel tube for the frame. I bent it to a shape i liked and then used a dremmel and cut it in half down the length. then brazed it together the same stick width as an axial frame. however, a real deuce does not have a bent frame. they are just straight steel beams. the body was built from 3/16" brake line. it was the first body i ever made, so its not the best scale looking thing, but it looks close enough to a real Deuce to work. i built the leaf mounts from scratch for the rear axle as well. I know the other guy building the tri axle personally. we go trail riding pretty often. he is doing some really nice work on his! | |

HD: oh yeah. that was my first attempt at a homemade one. not the best, but it works for me. i should really put the pin in the middle of the thing, and the pivot closer to the pin, but thanks man. i can make a "how to" for that one, but there are so many "how to's" on benders that this one wouldn't be that cool. take a look in the tools section and you will find all sorts of awesome how to for benders. Cordwood: i think the tube really brings it together. without it, it just looked like crap. |

of course brother. ;) well guys got a question. i am going to get some new 2.2's for this thing. i dont want to get huge 5.75" tires like Pits or IRoks, because they would just be too big for this thing. they would hit all the wheel wells and just get in the way. however a smaller tire like the MIL SPEC would look awesome. but not perform that great. they a harder compound. I did notice the new Dick Cepek 2.2 mud countries are pretty much the same height as the MIL SPECS, but they have the new soft compound, which would work really well. what would you vote for? |

I'd go with the MIL-SPECS personally.

If you dont care for performance at all and just want B.A. scale looks I'd also go with the mil spec.
