Default >< Black Widow Build ><

We'll let me start off with this is my second scaler build. And I have to say that the bug has bit me and I suffer from scale addiction!! I have to point out some truly inspiring builders on this site if it wasn't for them I may not have ever tried to build a class 3 scaler. So thanks (War Pig,
Chaotic Crawlers, MG200, rbgerrish, bmuzz1) You guys have some serious skills!!
This build will take me awhile to get finished because I have a ton going on with work. Anyway I will try to keep it updated as fast as I can.

Parts List
1. GCM Metal Head Axles (These are Freakin awesome BTW and would recommend them to anybody)

2. Dinky RC DDK (Can't wait for this thing to show up)

3. Custom Tubes for XR10 Universals ( Me and my father inlaw machined these up and they are almost done just got to drill and tap the holes for the hardware.)

4. Axial hardened bevel gears
5. Wraith drive lines with the 3mm link mod
6. Airtronics FHSS-FH4T
7. Robinson racing soild tranny dif gear
8. Robinson racing hardened idler gear
9. Vanquish xr10 chubs x2
10. Vanquish Wraith knuckles x2

11. SCX 10 Chassis

12. Proline TSL Super swampers

I have wanted to try something that I have not seen but I will save that for a later post anyway thanks for looking.

Thanks man!! I am holding the body a little close to the chest right now. Because I have to do a little fab work to make sure it will not only look good but perform as well. I may have a couple of questions for you a little later.

Hehe!! It will take some engineering but I think I can do it! BTW you know you are going to end up getting them!!

Dick!! I was going to keep the Tundra as a class 2 truck but it is going to be awhile before it is up and running again after the fall it took when we were out the other day! So build your Tundra and quit Fawkin bitchin!!

Yes I will, along with the pro4. My rig is 11lbs 2oz rtr with plastic housings.. how much do those weigh?

I will probably make new tubes too to accomodate wraith uni's when the time comes. I can eliminate wideners that way.

I see you say mockup, but show no progress... tease....

I have to make it a little exciting!! I will try to weigh them for you and let you know!

Anyway only a couple of pics of the mock up. And man all I can say is that building a jig for this thing that is square was a pain in the ass!!
I am not done with the GCM axles yet waiting on a 2mm tap. So I decided to start on the mockup with some ax10's. The link geometry should be very similar so I can at least start fabricating some stuff. I also have a couple of teaser pics of the body I am going to use.

My only hope is to make it look good, perform well and be somewhat unique.
