Default Full Steel CJ7 build

I got this in a trade, as a cj5 that 'Jeep CJ' built from scratch out of steel. Good old CJ5
I was very impressed with the body work, but I am not the biggest fan of CJ5's.
For the build, I got set of nice AXR10 axles, a set of 2.2 TSL's on 2.2 Mayhem Monsters, 20T crawlmaster Pro, full robinson racing scx trans, powerstroke shocks, and MIP drive shafts.

Here is how I got it:

I think the body looks good. Do you plan on cutting the shovel off the front?

I skipped any kind of photography during my cutting and stretching and welding expedition, but here is it's new look I went ahead and 4-linked it front and rear also and started some front fenders and sliders and drilled the headlight holes out to fit the large axial light buckets perfectly. The bigger light buckets look better anyhow.

I know I will have some haters about the axles and tires, so..... in advance

As you can see, there is plenty of room for interior in this thing Already have a good start of a dash board also. And most improtantly, the poser shot.

Thanks man!! When I saw this body and frame sitting on my buddies work bench, I had to find a way to get it. In the end, I won!!!

I am building this in memory of my old CJ7. It isn't going to be an exact replica, but I am going to do the same exact cage design.

Here is my old CJ7 the day I went to bring it home. It was a little rough to say the least. I put a lot of time into it.

Thank you! I love the stance and track width on it. I get full lock to lock with zero rubbing at all. The rear barely even touches the tub at full stuff, so a couple bump stops and I am golden there. I think with how heavy it is, the width is necessary anyhow.

I had it on 1.9's, but I swapped em out for 2.2's to see what it would look like and that sealed the deal. I love it!!

There always seems to be someone who hates on the big tires and wide axles. I personally love it. True scale is nice and all, but this scale is capable

I have always leaned towards a big 2.2 rig as well. I remember when Just Zach, Kaetwo, and Pinchflat were all running the the super big Ttc style rigs with the of Pits! Those were the days I feel in love with RC Crawling.

I still have a soft spot for large wheels. I love the new Pit bulls now....they are meaty! But I think our tastes do evolve. I also liked new and shiny now I'm leaning more toward the rusty and weathered.

I love your style Phil. I know this one is going to hit all the high marks!

Subscribed!...to see how long you can resist throwing wraith axles on there!!!!

Love the plan, love the original, the story and the tubework. Is that you behind the rig on the picture of the right front quarter? I like to put a face with a name. Greg

I will absolutely guarantee that it will not get full width wraith axles. It may very well get narrowed ones that would keep the axr10 width though. Yes, that is me behind my rig. I sure do miss that old jeep. This cage is going to be as close as I can get to exactly replicating it. Paint won't be hard to match.

Thank you for your continued support!! I am a big TTC style rig kinda guy. I like to think that my execution isn't too far out there.. My plan is to make this one of the must have rigs on the site. The interior is a pretty basic set up, so that helps me a lot there. I will be tackling it myself. The cool part about this steel body, is that the trail rash will rust
