Default 4 wheel independent crawler?

Anybody ever done this and if so, can they be raced in something like the Ultra 4 class? I don't know anything about the crawler sport (I'm a sand/desert and baja race enthusiast) any input would be appreciated. IF I can race one, where do I find specs as for wheelbase, width, weight, power and whatever else may be regulated? Input please.....

Common sense told me the U4RC forum would be the place to look. I will help and tell you the U4RC forum would be the place to look.

I'll check U4rc forum. Thanks. Back to the question: Has anyone done one and if the concept sucks, why?

Thanks for the heads up on the U4RC forum.

As for a Summit, not the idea.

As for impossible, I already have the rear done that I use on my buggy builds. I can lift a front wheel 7" in the air and the other 3 still sit on the ground. It is basically the same footprint as a Yeti. I am trying to work out the front to be on par with the back for wheel travel, tight steering will be the only problem with IFS. Also, I saw that IRS is legal in U4 so I may build one anyway.

I know some of you guys know him, he says hi. Common said he has been having major health issues and said he apologizes for not being around as much. If anyone would like to help with his medical bills, you can Paypal me the funds and I'll transfer them to his bank in the Cayman Islands.

Common sense also said 8 track tapes , casettes and the tube tv would never go away, not to mention man will never fly. The reason you don't see this so much in 1:1 in my opinion is the rear axle issue, angles and plunge. Cvs aren't built strong enough for the abuse. That said, I know a 1:1 builder who built one with a arms all the way around, and it works really well. My intent is trailing arms in the rear. So back to the original question, is it a weight transfer to tire issue in rc or an 8 track tape or something else?

Take a look at the axial exo terra. Full indy, not really a crawler but it is a starting point.

Despite my smart assedness, I'd definately like to see what you come up with. Post up some pics when you can. Always nice to see something different and scratches built unlike all the cookie cutter nonsense.
