This will be buggy of a different breed. It will be a cab forward chassis design I drew up a couple years ago and never came to life. KINDA WILD IDEA BUT. .. It will look similar to a Mog cab and a snowmobile rear. I thought it might look cool as a rock buggy. It will be powered by a twin turbo flat six. I'm not only a big fan of mogs and sleds but also huge fan of Porsche 911's and the 911 tuned 935 with twins!! The cool thing about the 935 was how light they were for their time and the motors made 7-800 HP and they are air cooled!! I've seen a few 1:1 rock buggies with turbos and I thought I better snag a super scale 935 motor. I've never had a project that has gotten me this stoked. I'm hoping to bore you with lots of good pics and techy info. .. BUILD LIST: Custom Chromoly tube chassis Custom front motor mount Scale TT Porsche 935 motor Bomber t-case CURRIE F9'S w/4ws Scale chubs and knucks f/r VP lockers Under/over gears VP links Custom driveshafts Traxxas BB shocks 2.2 VP beadlocks Custom cut n shut from 1.9's into 2.2 PL Swampers Holmes BLE Holmes sensored outrunner 2 big servos CC MINI ESC for winch WORKING ON AXLES FIRST FOR CHASSIS MOCK UP PLAN IS VP'S BEAUTIFUL CURRIE F9'S, WRAITH WIDTH FRONT W/PASSENGER SIDE DROP, CENTERED REAR XR10 WIDTH. .. VP DEFINITELY HIT IT OUT IF THE PARK WITH THESE. I MUST SAY THESE ARE TRULY A WORK OF ART. ... I LOVE THE MACHINE WORK AND THAT THEY INCORPORATED THE BIGGER PINION BEARING. .. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE A TRUE 3RD MEMBER EITHER!! VANQUISH NEVER CEASES PLEASE OR AMAZE!!! REAR AXLE FRONT AXLE 5.5" CUT-N-SHUT SWAMPERS VP OMF'S BANGIN 935 WITH TWINS |

Making the rear axle work as a XR width setup was easy. Only had to drill and tap 2 holes for the truss. Everything else for the rear would just be assembly. Like I said I love the 3rd member and how perfectly it assembles! What a nice axle! |

The front axle was a little more work to make it a passenger side drop but worth it. I ordered up a SCX F9 truss from VP and as always they were very willing to help. In order to make this work I had to roll the tubes down so the holes were pointed at the ground. You can see the marks I made on the bottom of the housing to make sure everything lines up. You can see that I rolled the tubes slightly though. This will help point the pinion at the trans better rather than having the pinion parallel with the ground. This will be sorta like having a high pinion and alleviates sharp angles in the drive shafts. 2nd is a pic of my old Tundra I built with the same concept as far as driveshaft angle. It creates some challenges with your knuckles but easily remedied. NEW HOLE FOR TRUSS ON TOP Next is modified truss cut on one side to make room for panhard. Next is pass side link mount to be modified. This mount is actually meant for the drivers side to be used with the bigger U4 truss. The one hole fits existing hole in pumpkin on pass side. Other one I have to drill and tap in the center of the mount. NEW HOLE |

Chassis is coming along good. sorry for the crappy pics. I'm using 4130 Chromoly tubing with 56 safety silv. Seems pretty strong so far. Here is the base skid tube work. Also I'll be running a full 1/8" thick delrin skid to wrap the entire bottom of this tube skid. This stuff brazed almost as nice as DOM |

I would call dibs on this one, but I would never drive it. looks too cool on paper for me to even think to thrash it. this one will be over the top! I thought my mid motor 4 banger turbo was gonna be cool.. this is sweet! ill be silently watching this.

Ahhhhh yah! Make two! This is going to be rad. I've seen some European forward bias'd cab'd rigs that have caught my attention as well. |

Started on CMS mount on Saturday. I'm really not a big fan of CMS on WE Rock type buggy but they are also more challenging to aquire points on. ... Mount is in. It will require some bracing up front but it is coming along slowly right now. I also brazed up the grill/nose piece as well as the hood piece. More to come this week. Hopefully it will look like a chassis soon ![]() UPPER FRAME NOSE PIECES |
