Default JeepRod truck

Okay so... this rig started with the intentions of having something different. I decided to build a steel hotrod truck bed. Then i decided to make the tailgate functional. Then i just kept working towards the front. Brazing in a firewall, inner fenders, rear of the cab, and so on. I started all this with a hot racing raw steel frame.

Next comes opening hood, doors, roof, dash, then final mock up before powder coat.

Stay tuned.

And just think. I did all this with a dremel and a torch. If i had serious tools i could be dangerous.

Nice build. I feel your "pain", if you will, but the other way around. I have tools but have no time! Looking like a mix of 18ga and 20ga CR going on here, right?

Is this going to stay slammed or have the rod look and be able to crawl? The reason I ask is that at the last Temecula, CA rod run there was a Jeep that was SLAMMED, top of the cab was somewhere around 36". Had to do a triple take on it. 2wd if I recall. It had pretty tall street tires on it as well.

I am planning on leaving it as slammed as possible and running the suspension at full droop so it still has plenty of flex and suspension travel.

Finally made a little more progress and got the wheelbase, links and suspension set up. Electronic locations figured out.

Still need to make the doors, hood, roof. And other little odds and ends. Dash ect.

I got the cms, winch, winch controller, bec, RX, and battery all under the hood. The mmp should mount cleanly under the dash passenger side and ill use a rubber gomet to pass the wires threw the firewall.

So i ve finally gotten some time to make some more progress on this build.

I mounted the grill, made the roof, and fab'd the hood and bolted up the hinges. Its really starting to come together. I just need to mout the doors and paint, then final assembly and done.
