Welcome Derek! Can't go wrong with a Holmes BR-XL or a pair of Tekin FXRs as for motors Holmes or Brood gets my vote. |

Went out with the wraith this Friday, burnt up my Titan 12t motor running 56/14 32p threw a Titan 21t in runs cooler but like the 12t speed for hill climbing. Any ideas? Thanks guys |

Did you happen to get the temps? Also I have a few Titan 12Ts if you need some extra. PM me if you are interested.

Didnt get temps but it was really hot didn't think it would get that hot with that gearing took a 15min break and then nothing but my gear cover was touching the motor shaft might have had it in a bind, the 21t titan runs good but haven't taken it out for a full run but do like the 12t speeds, any other gearing options for the 12t? To keep the temps low Thanks for your help Derek |

get a good motor not a cheap one.. the brushes in those stock can motors are crap..wont last long. when i worked at hobbytown,i cant tell you how many of those motors i swapped out. get a holmes or brood 21-23t..23t holmes is what im running in my southern buggy. if your going for some speed go brushless. are you going thru any water after youve been running at speed? after the comm shaft gets hot and you hit the water,it mucks up your brushes and comm shaft, leading to early motor failure. wrap the motor up in a motor saver from outerwears. |

I run thru water some times but not recently and I've never had a motor run this hot. Yea been thinking Holmes motor just wasn't sure which one would give Titan 12t wheel speed for hill climbs but still let me crawl. And what gearing would I need for the hh motor. Thanks for the help |

Pretty happy with the wraith with the vxl in it its in training mode crawls with barely any cogging and can still hit allittle water if needed. Next goal is to get my scx10 honcho back up and going so I can crawl with some of you, never done competition crawling just crawling with some friends, wraith with vxl and Mickey thompsons and tsls and my scx10 new bright jk or honcho with 1.9 Mickey thompsons or 2.2 tsls, usually only free Friday thru Sunday I've been to paradise park and pinnacle spots. Thanks guys for your advice keep it coming, thinking about castle sidewinder esc for the wraith and maybe a hh 21,23,25t torque master pro, Thanks again !! Derek |

Got my wraith with the vxl in training mode runs great and little to no cogging when crawling, but might switch to castle esc for drag brake, and wanna get my scx10 back running so I can crawl with you guys, not sure if y'all run 1.9 or Comp crawlers more( I've got scx10 with 1.9s or 2.2s and the wraith) never done competition crawling usually just crawl with some friends, been to paradise park and pinnacle, xr10 will be my next big project. Thanks for all your advice, Derek |
