Tower sells lexan sheet. So does McMaster-Carr, PN 8574K19. I used 0.030" on mine but 0.040" should be fine. Great rig.

Sorry to be this way but that is the problem. These are not build like your used to. Have you tried the straight ones? Maybe the bent ones are placing too much stress on the ends. Call me before you order any metal ones.

I went with some thicker stainless links using Revo ends after pulling out my LAST stock ballend. I wouldnt even waste my money on the metal ends. Its the small diameter of the threaded rod that seemed to be my problem |

Ive been thinking about this (as I ponder stealing this link setup for my sister's rock racer) and someone with a nice shop should be able to use... oh, say 3/8 inch stainless rod, trim it to length, turn down and thread the ends to 6-32 (?) then screw on some HD Revo ends. You will have to taper the rod down to the Revo ends so they don't hang up on stuff, but that should be beefy enough for even the heaviest throttle finger. A nice shop could even stuff them into a press to give them a slight bend for more clearance. I guess you COULD use smaller dia rod if you had to, but I'm real happy with the 3/8 inch derlin links I am running. |

Yeah I thought about that. I think it is the off set on the plastic lowers link ends that are killing them. I am going to try and straight on first. Then I will go back to straight links if that does not work. Part of the problem is we are out just having fun trying to break something. I guess it is not a bad thing when that is the only thing i have been able to break so for. It drives off the loading dock pretty decent. LOL. Yeah I know thats asking to break it, but trying to make the 2 foot drop before it lands on the rock garden is good fun. I am going to try to make my alum panels for it today. We have been a little busy around the shop getting things ready to move. We should have all of our stuff in Bham in roughly 10 days. I guess we will have to start on that rc comp site real soon. -Dan
