New springs for the shocks, stage2 kit is a great ivestment, tires-moabs or losi claws, put the shock bump inside the shock under the piston to get the C.O.G. down. These are a few things, trial and error is a great process as well

Yotachump knows all. You know, like some sort of rockcrawling Jedi master. (note dripping sarcasm ) The stage 2 kit isn't a bad way to go. Assembling it yourself is cheaper, and you'll get better quality parts, but if you've got no idea what you're doing, order it. Read over the CKRC stage 2 article elsewhere on this site and see what you think for yourself. There are some durability problems with the 3 link connecter with higher power and high traction rigs. The TCS 4 link plates are also a great way to go and are a little cheaper. I have yet to find anything that dials out all the torque twist on the stock chassis, but you can get close. Tires make a huge difference. Badlands are great, but maybe hold out to see how the new Hammers work out when they're released in the next few weeks. Using internal limiters and softer springs on the shocks also helps a great deal. The other major change I'd do is to move the battery to the front axle, either with a small lipo or a set of nimh saddle packs.

The best thing to do Is to drive it and see for your self what needs to be changed. modifications are only as good as the driver behind the wheel feels about them, basically some people might have an easier time driving a stock truck than one with 600 dollars in upgrades/mods.

the one thing that does seem consistent is to buy the strongest servo you can afford. there is nothing wrong with too much torque.
