Default AX10 - Shelf Queen NO LONGER

AX10-Kit
Integy Shocks
Novak Goat Crawler Sintered Brushless System
RPP Rock Ready 2.2 Beadlock Aluminum Wheels
2.2 Rock Lizard Crawler Super Sticky Tires
Axial Rear Steer Kit
Airtronics 94162Z High Torque Servos
Axial 30 deg. Bent Suspension Links
A Bunch of Ice Cream Sticks

The only reason I called my truck a temporary shelf queen is that I have yet to run it outside. I decided to take some sweet pics before it gets trashed.

I have fun running it around the apt until my girl gets annoyed. I dont understand why...i guess it must be the seat cushions, her shoe boxes her pocket books and bedroom pillows on the floor...lol.

What can say?...i have to improvise

The Start

New Shoes
The RPP Rims are beautiful and give the truck a look its been missing. It took a long time to screw 32 screws per wheel but in the end it was well worth it.

The Finale

I never really liked the looks of those wheels, but that truck pulls them off.

Nice Photo skillz too!

Default nice

whatever time that you spent on making that "wood" bed was "well worth it"..

really nice ( I'm jealous - mine is still a work in progress as we are still up to our as* in snow for awhile yet )

Thanks...I was thinking about getting the red RC4WD BLO1N set but my girl saw these and wanted me to get them. I was a bit reluctant and started searching for other rigs that might have them just to see how they would look. I Couldn't find those exact so i decided to trust her opinion even though she can't stand the time I spend working on my truck . After seeing them on my truck i have to say that she was right.

It was fun trying to make the wood bed...i thought about using balsa wood but decided on the icecream sticks. I cut snipped the round edges and laid a brick pattern on painters tape. I sanded them and brushed on some pecan stain wood sealer combo. I removed the grooves from the truck bed and laid out some strips of servo tape. Finally i just laid the sticks down for that scaled down 4X4 look.

Those rims look stellar mate! The wood work on the stock body is very, very nice too. I hope you have a beater body for that thing. It is very well done.

I think i might use this body as a beater since the green i wanted wasnt available at the hobby shop and i actually wanted the black to be a matte finish on the outside.. Im going to try a second attempt at a new body when i get the green and figure out how to do the black matte finish.

LOL I wanted to immortalize the truck before it gets beat down. I learned to do that before running since ive totalled really nice bodies on my NTC3...high speed airborne crashes.

Thanks...I decided to try my hand at detail after checking out the rigs on this forum...they had my imagination going.

Its no where near in detail as some of the really sweet trucks ive seen...but i'm happy with it.

LOL. Browsing Xtreme RC Cars mag last night and saw a shoot of your rig in there. New I had seen it somewhere else. Ice creams sticks really helped the overall look of the body.
