how are you getting extra steering? the only way I see to do it is counter sinking the screws in the axle c's. if thats it I can get that steering throw with the stock set-up. thanks for the help.

They make a huge difference.

Biggest change is you no longer have the "pin slop" from the axle to the dog bone. When your locker has heavily worn, combined with that slop you end up with nearly a 1/4 turn of free play before your wheel engages the drive train. Not the case with any CVD. I am using the ones sold by CKRC and they are very nice.

A friend has the MIP CVD's and they are excellent quality and performance as well. Everything should have CVD's, IMO.

I haven't seen the RC4WD knuckles, but if they are similar in design to the stock knuckles they do not have the throw that the RCP knuckles are capable of. (I know most of the others on the market are direct copies to the stock knuckle) You can get similar throw by grinding down the leading ege of the C hub carrier, but it will not leave much material for a screw.

In addition the stock axle/dogbone is designed to max out around 32 degrees, where as the CVD's can go up to almost 45 degrees. The difference in steering angle is quite drastic.

you may need to reposition your lower links to take full advantage of this increased steering.

Thanks,
Axial

Yup, I'm running the knuckles and the aluminum C's with the CVD's. I put this set-up through some serious abuse this past weekend without any issues.
