***CDW 1.0 Chassis Build*** Finally got around to Designing a chassis:lol::lol:.I also Will be using CDW Proto Straight upper link plates I stole the axles and Tranny off of my old AX10 http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...CDWAX10005.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...chassis10a.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...chassis10b.jpg A Puller Should fit nice and sung:lol: (might Need a little bit of filing) Link Plates If you would like a Chance to be a tester for the Chassis, Post up HERE |
First things first is to get the Axles built a little more then they are. So I picked up so Axial CVD, HD gears and some Bonus Line lockers. So along with the RCP straight Axles, shafts and Rc4wd knuckles and C's I already Have, I should be good. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...WAX10001-1.jpg |
looks like a good start. |
1ST - got to make me one of those servo mounts 2nd - I already want your demo rear plate 3rd - Im subscribing now, you got me looking on this chassis. "thumbsup" |
great start can't wait to see it when its done remember to upload pics when its done;-) |
Just got done installing the gears And the lockers in the rear axle.NO SLOP:lol::lol:(I meant to take the Pic before I put grease on the gears.) I also decided to try to clean the looks up on the RCP adapters, so I chucked them in the lathe and turn the end down and counter sunk the holes. Looks better I think. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...DWAX101008.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...CDWAX10002.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...CDWAX10003.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...WAX10004-1.jpg I shimmed the everything with some KYOSHO SHIMS. The nice thing about the bag of kyosho shims is it come with 30 shims (10) .1 shims,(10).2 shims, and (10).3 shims. |

What's up with the undercuts in the axle shafts? Engineered to be the weak point? |
Finished the front axle. GOT STEERING?:lol: Yes, I did use a different kind of grease then the rear axle. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...DWAX101012.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...DWAX101013.jpg |

That makes sense now, I did the same thing to my R2D output shaft gear, Too long a screw chewed my teeth. |
I'm really liking that chassis. What shocks did you design it for ? |

Revo's or Losi .9" shocks. I highly recommend the losi .9" shocks. |
Now that the Axles are done it time to move onto the tranny. The Tranny already has Aluminum gears in it, so Im just going to finish it off. So I ordered up a Axial slipper and decided to install one CDW 5mm 4130 output for the front. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...Moutput007.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...10Build003.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...Build003-1.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...dTranny005.jpg |
