| EP's Spare AX10
I switched over to a Berg before I was done with the AX10. Here's the rest of it. Cheater trucks rule! I gotta get a hold of Matt over at Reign RC for a chassis. CDW 6mm outputs and mirror imaged the transmission so the motor sits on the the other side, but is still up front. Maxx shafts. Maxx shafts. Tekin B1R speed controller is hidden underneath the Axial optional servo mount and battery tray. Testing this controller is the real reason I rebuilt the truck. Built an electronics tray to hold the receiver. Made it from the upper tray piece and a piece of plastic. RC4WD axle Cs, and MIP CVDs with RCP knuckles. Some HPI parts inside for the Maxx shafts. Chromo locker, too. Rear Axial lockouts with their straight axle inside. Looks like the Berg hex isn't a good fit for the Axial wheels. TCS skidplate, and the Boomerang for the rear upper link mount. Maxx shafts. An old Proline Rock Pleazer body from an old Clod Stick build found a new home. The hump in the back fits over the chassis perfectly so the body sits lower, which is why I used it actually. Should work pretty good. |

Cool Cool PP.. you going to run it at the next event, seeing as everyone else will be in Moab. I would hate to beat your Berg with Coltons RTR |

Well holy cow look what I found. So I'm a little burned out on the Berg (I'm not done yet!), but I still have the burning itch to get out and drive on rocks for some reason, so I broke out the spare! Little while ago I bought a Fantom Rhino 55 turn motor, just because I had to have one. Too awesome to kill in my Berg, I found it a home in the Axial. Though now I'm asking myself why I don't have my Holmes 10 turn Cobalt Puller in there... Anyways, the motor is very smooth, and it definitely does have more power than my other 55 turn, which is a V10 Integy. The V10 really wasn't too bad, but this is definitely better. Oh, and it seems Fantom isn't making them anymore, so it's sweetness that I got one. RHINO FEATURES: * Hand-Wound Armature * Laydown Brush Hoods & Oversize Comm – Maximizes torque potential. * 4 Magnet Can * Pre-Installed Capacitors RHINO SPECIFICATIONS: * Armature Type: 5mm high-torque web * Commutator Type: oversize 11mm * Brushes: FAN52315 * Springs: FAN51322 Ultra-Heavy Black |

What did I do... uh, tried a few different motor winds, and a few different batteries out to see when it'd give up. Found it! They called it testing, I called it... testing too actually. Carlos, three controllers, three different motor/battery set ups, three times. I'm not on the Team anymore. This was by far the worst. Hence the FXR in the picture with the Fantom motor. I mentioned the motor is awesome right? |

Holy crap Cory, you sure were testing beyond that poor esc's capabilties, what you do, throw in a 4s pack? That motor looks cool, not as cool as a 7t from JRH on my ax-10, on 3s it's insane |

Mix and match the typical stuff. 35 to 55 turn motors, and 2 and 3 cell lipos. Castle BEC, or not. Just test and test and test and try stuff. Gearing changes. Drive drive drive. I also bought a new Axial body for it, the XC-1, it's clear still. I'd like to get more Axial parts on the truck to replace the other parts. Just make it more of an Axial truck I guess. OH YEAH!!! Down at the ECC I won a set of Vanquish Revolver wheels and two packs of weights! Freaking awesome wheels. I have the DH's on my Berg and love them. Literally. I literally love my wheels. So much I'd take them behind the high school and get em pregnant! Oh yeah and they're the Axial offset, so I'll probably put them on. So last night being all burned out on the Berg I competed with this truck instead, and joebruiser says it's cool to post your wins, so I'm telling you I won last night with it. That was cool. Yeah, it is good info ain't it! Wish I knew months ago! Guess I could have figured it out really. Same car, different gears. Seems simple enough. AX30401 Heavy Duty Bevel Gear Set - 36T/14T Same gear ratio as the HPI RS4 HD set. Sweet. These guys deserve the credit. Thanks. Quote:
