Default Axial high clearance links question

heyas,

I purchased 4 axial 30 degree 101mm high clearance links today and have installed them numerous times each direction, long end up, long end down etc. no matter what I do it looks like the drive shaft is going to be lower then the link arms, therefore going to get hit and torn out. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to install these and have the shafts flush or clear of the links?

I searched BTW and found no pointers, I also looked at everyone's pics in the ax10 gallery and anyone who is using them looks clear, I must be doing something wrong but for the life of me can't figure it out.

Thanks

I had to extend them with Bandit female shafts after cutting up the Rusty/Pede males and gluing that inside the Rusty/Pede females.

You can get longer shafts for your ball ends...that might solve some of your issue...or get longer upper links..that will push the top of your axle out...just some ideas...got pics?

Nope long end up, bend at the axle end. DS will sit lower but will hit slightly. Wont rip the DS off.......... unless you are just going balls out

I am having the same problem as the OP. For some reason that I can't see my rear driveshaft sits lower than my fronts

Ignore my first post, put an additional spacer between the UCA's "Y" and the UCA mount on the axle and use a longer screw.

well I guess I'll install the 2 in the front and have all 4 and hope to hell I don't rip my shaft off at a crucial time. I suppose I should order a better pair of shafts as well....

I added a little plastic spacer from the kit as it's all I had on hand and it seems better to a certain degree, so it makes sense that this will work, gonna have to dig up a bit bigger of a spacer and longer screw.

thanks!

im just throwing out ideas but move the ower links back to the back hole on the chassis and it might pull the axle back

you need to make the upper links a little longer so it rotates the axle housing around...
that makes the output on the axle point more upward..
you do that untill you get it pointed where you want it..
it will also change the wheel base a little..

Since we are on the subject of rotating axles, by rotating them you change the caster. Does this have any affect on the vehicles crawling abilities?

the links and DS are parallel now I used an M3 20 mil with a 5 mil spacer in the upper link "Y" end and it looks good, just need to finish rebuilding my wheels and take it out....
