Default DoubleD ShaftD Chassis

After the recent sucess of the DoubleD Chassis at Nationals, the wheels started turning... The DoubleD Berg chassis would be great converted to a shaft truck. It is very low and small, but offers great ground clearance (3.4") while allowing you to mount the body lower than other chassis' I have tried. Multiple mounting holes for the links and shocks made this a very easy conversion. After some testing and measurement, I ended up with Revo links for the top, and the standard bent links for AX10 on the bottom. For shocks I used Maxx units with modified caps, drilled a hole in the cap and treaded on a ball end, ball ends on each end. I got Kamikaze to carve me out a one-off skid that is 2.75" wide, the same width as a r2d. the r2 was a perfect fit even with a TCS shift servo plate on the front. Even though the DoubleD was designed for a Berg, it is easily adapted to the AX10 axles. I have done a little testing with this setup and it seems very stable and predictable, also suits my driving style perfectly!
There is talk of making it available to the public, with a 2.75" skid for the r2 or a slightly wider skid for the stock trans.

Yeah, he didn't know how well he did 'til I texted him the scores today. Number One shafty isn't bad at all! He may be turning into a capable driver!
