I like the Traxxas stampede shafts, use one cut male and two female's per axle. Traxxas part # 1953

MIPs for me. although i might just leave the stock ones. ill rather have that part give out the something inside the bulkheads or transmission. a broken stock shaft is cheap and simple to fix. dont have to worry about taking anything apart. but if i do decide to get a set its gonna be MIPs

Running this would I have to run Traxxas Drive Yokes Steel, or can I use my Axail one's?

well after adding it up looks like mip's are cheaper than stampede shafts if you use the traxxas steel yokes.
mip's are $39
traxxas are $9.95 for shafts+$17 a pair for steel yokes total of $44.

looks like i'll have to bite the bullet and get the mip's.

MIP does not list the "short dig" length driveshaft on their website, just the stock length driveshafts. A seperate company (Thunder Tech Racing in Illinois) says on their site they are the only ones selling the shorter dig length driveshafts. I tried to search for this driveshaft (my truck needs them f/r) and I didn't have any luck finding them elsewhere because Thunder Tech is out of stock. I might call someone I know that works at MIP to see if they can tell a bit more about this. If anyone else knows where to find these driveshafts or when they will be available again then share the info.

You don't need to open up the tranny or axles to replace parts. Plus plastic shafts are cheap and come in bulk packs if you get the Traxxas shafts. So, I say just stick with either the stock Axial ones, or get some Traxxas shafts. BUT if you HAVE to get shafts, I'd say get the MIP ones. The part that will break with the MIP ones are the cross pin in the joint. So I'd get some spares of those as well and keep them in your tool box. Plus the MIP one's are rebuildable if needed.

ok, now a couple of people have talked about how they want the driveshaft being the weak link as opposed to anything in their tranny.... this is why you run a slipper clutch with mips/ thundertechs, then you wont have any problems with stuff breaking

but you dont need the traxass yokes
i run the stock axial yokes on my stampede shafts with no trouble , i went the 9 dollar route and went with the whole bag of shafts and im still on my first set, gave a set away and still have spares

Like Dewey said, you can run the Traxxas shafts on the axial kit yokes. I don't run a slipper (yet) and I have not broken a Traxxas shaft. I would love to run the MIP's with a slipper, just not in the budget yet.

Thank god I have my slipper went to a gather the other day and if not for the slipper I think I might have snapped something but as soon as the truck thats it the slipper kicked in love it.

Now just have to order my DNA dig and the MIP Drive shafts.
