Default My comp ax10 (soon anyways)

Just thought I would post some pics of my truck for some feed and just to see what you guys think should be changed or improved.

here is a list of the things I have changed:

Axial straight axle in rear with a low range gear set in the back.

Axial cvds, alum. knuckles and hubs and low range gear set up front.

custom steering links made from bronze rod.

Axial carbon fibre battery plates and custom split six cell pack.

Axial alum. drive shaft collars

stock shocks have been modified to a droop setup with no springs (havn't seen a need for them yet.)

R2 dig transmission

(tires are finally soon to change)

here are the pics

I was going to mod my skid plate to place my links inboard but with the r2 there isn't enough room

I have been thinking of buying a skid plate from tcs.

hit up R2J on here and have him custom fab you a triangulated skid with mounting points for the r2d2.

but buy some tires that actually, like, grip first lol

I completely agree with you, the tires definitely need replacing! I am actually just waiting for a chance to go to my local hobby store and pick some up!

I'll probably pick up some panthers or "maybe" some chisels but that is unlikely cause they cost twice as much here, plus to get the best performance out of them you need a narrower wheel too, and that puts the price up a wee bit.

I think that I might not even bother buying a new skid for now, cuz I plan on building a custom tube frame for this thing in the near future.

I'll try to get some pics of it out on the rocks soon!

When I build my chassis I will definitely inboard the links! I am just not going to spend $30 bucks for a skid 'm not going to use for very long.

You don't need to spend $30 on a new skid.

Just cut the stock one.... see example here.

with the r2 transmission there isn't enough room to for the links to be inside the stock skid.

no need to bust his balls on tires! they are awsome loose dirt tires! when i had mine they where loose dirt monsters! but yeah if your gonna be on the rocks get rovers or panthers only way to go for a comp tire IMO!

Thanks for saving my balls there buddy!

I also found that the lizards where great in the dirt. They just aren't sticky or soft enough to grab the rocks like I'd like em to.

Thanks again! I know of many obstacles at my local crawl spot that my truck could not conquer yet simply because my tires were'nt grabbing enough. I am hoping that when I get new tires that will be a different story!

Thanks for the comment on the links! "Proffesional"
