It would be best to wrap each cell and then the whole pack. Prevents shorting and the pack is more durable.

Default I tried. My new soldering iron sucks.

I give up... I'm just going to buy a battery pack.

thread resurrection

I soldered my first battery back last nite I used the smaller cells I am only running 1600ma but the pack fits perfectly between the tires and around the servo

My cells looked like the original posters I had to wrap them before I soldered them to keep them from shorting I charged it and when my charger kicked off it came to rest at 8.5 volts. I will see how it performs this weekend

Looks good
I put hot glue around my exposed solders when I did mine. Helped protect it and made the possibility of shorting on something impossible.

Hey now that is a great idea!

I have one cell that wont stay charged any ideas I was thinking I should unsolder it and charge it and see if it would hold a charge on its own. I'm new to this electric stuff at least with custom battery packs. I looked in the electronics section some but I'm going to do some more digging.

Almost sounds like a bad cell. I'm not sure if that's caused by heating it up to much, I honestly don't know. Sorry I can't help.

do you think you could post up a link to that other thread? im using the same size battery as you but i dont plan on trying to split the pack just yet, so im intersted in seeing what you did with the battery tray.

i saw a few pics of your battery mounted to the underside of the stock battery tray, are there others or are those the ones you were referring too? if so, that is my back up option if my idea cant be done.
