I run the standard HD gears in the front and the underdrive in the rear. It helps with the TT and makes it a little easier to tune the TT out more using link placement, etc. I've seen some scalers that have OD front and UD rear. They didn't seem to do too bad. I wouldn't like to see what happens if you get it bound up really bad though. |

jsut got my order from rpp and put the 43/13 gears in the rear, and vp knucks for my bta, with a little testing its hard to notice a difference, ppl say it helps with steering but it hard for me to tell at this point since i did the new knuckles too cant wait to take it to the homebrew course at the buddies house and do some real testing

A couple in our club installed the under drive in the rear. Love it! Good luck Last edited by 98zj5.9; 04-02-2010 at 05:53 AM. Reason: Spelling |

I have the 43\13 in the rear of mine. There is a noticeable torque twist difference. I am very happy with how it drives with this setup.

I have a 9lb scale rig with rs pro 21.5 and plastic gears in the trans, I have the od front ud rear, it helps with all control. the truck did not want to go straight, had tqt. The gears helped alot. I also have the od/ud in my comp crawler, with very little wieght in the rear, same motor esc as scaler,vp dig, it has been bound up sevral times (plastic gears in trans), I have no problems so far. I have another crawler with the ud only, it does not work as well as my comp rig in turning or climbing. As far as reverse I have not noticed any problems (reverse adds points). I hope I've helped.

So there is no answer on which one to get, if you could only get one. I wanted to get the under drive but not yet. What prices have you guys seen it for? Here a cheap link to over drives. http://cgi.ebay.com/Axial-AX30401-AX...item4a9f03cbd7 |

[QUOTE=skywker51;2391474]I havent had an issue with mine yet, Im runnin the 43/13 in front, stock in back. I thought the 36/14 was for the front, and the 43/13 is for the rear axle. I assume you have undrive for your front axle. |

| http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/ax30401.htm The lower gear range set reduces torque twist (43/13) (Rear 3.31) The higher gear range offers higher top speed (36/14) (Front 2.57) Use the gears in different combinations front and rear to reduce torque twist in the rear and overdrive the front axle to help pull you through climbs easier 4 Last edited by JesterSpec; 04-05-2010 at 06:37 AM. |
