| Military HMMWV Body
Looking for a Military HMMWV body for my AX10! Any ideas? I have looked at Tamiya, but they do not have the right size, they go to like 1/12. I would like to make it look like a 1:1 scale but we will see what happens. If I can't find anything though, I will probably attempt to build my own chassis or body. I'll find a way, adapt and overcome HOOAH!!!

first of all, HOOAH i served with the 101st in iraq. and next is scale. may not be "perfect" but the wheely king is considered a 1:12 however they use 1:10 bodies. id go with the 1:12 body, paint it up and see how it turns out. probly a match |

This should be in the scale section...."Axial AX-10 Scorpion" is meant for Comp Crawlers.

I'm looking for a 4 door turtle back, just trying to mimic the M1151 I had in Afghanistan. But I'll take what I can find! I'll look into what you suggested, thanks for the feedback!

You know Armycrawler101st. let me correct you on some things before you get on the wrong foot. Now this may push you to leave or it may bring a positive spin on things and allow you to get with the right people and help. 1. dont act like because you served in the military this has opened up some magical world for you and allows you to be a dick on this forum. I can appreciate your service and as you should know from serving in the military.... respect is earned, not given! The guy you just called "forum police" served in the Marine Corps as well as did I. We got ya, you served, its appreciated and understood, but doesnt give you the right to throw an ace around to anyone Military or not here. you want to be a dick, go join another forum! 2. This does belong in the scale section because if you would do your homework, An AX10 is a comp crawler and an SCX10 is a scale crawler. Throwing a scale typical shell on a comp crawler can be done, but is two different things and you will not get the true look of a scale crawler, performance of a scale crawler, or comp if you choose to do so with a scale body on an AX10. Totally two different chassis. Again I am not being an ass to you, but we all here are very willing to help a newbie out. Much like the military, RCC is a band of brothers that stick up for eachother. Get to know this and youll understand what it means to be a member of RCC. Fight the system and youll be seeing your way out the other side through a pin hole. 3. Basically what I am trying to say is, please do yourself a favor and just relax and allow constructive critisism. I think in the end youll find it will be to your benifit and help you grow with the badest ass site in crawling. There are many great threads in the scale sections from members using and exsisting product and making it their own to learning how to custom fabricate some really cool things, that being even bodies from the ground up using styrene. I know what shell your talking about and I have not found any 1/10th versions of that shell in a hard shell, I do know a guy whom I comp with every year from the Washigton/Oregon group that has that tamiya shell and its actually a pretty decent scale closer to 1/10th in all honesty. He just ran it this year again as a matter of a fact. So if thats what your looking for, I think this would be a wise choice. other than that, the only other shell I know of is a Proline Urban hummer made of lexan or searching for a 1:6th scale fastlane hummer which I have just aquired to build a replica CNN Warrior one. It all depends on the depth you are looking for and the willingness to experiment with making something how you want it.. Welcome to RCC and hope you understand. Honestly I tell you this for your own good, Not because of me. But to feel the full wrath of 100+ members/mods/vendors/and owners dropping the shit on you full load and making you unwelcome has happened so many times I can build a wall to their memories and can remeber everyone of their names based on stupid defiance and ignorance. Now this is scale ARMYness. My USNICK Dreager Buggy Last edited by team3six; 09-21-2010 at 07:45 PM. |

Funny how Juan gets chopped on when he has been one of the most active and constructive members to help with setup etc... Also I thought the move to scale would be a better way to get more help thus being constructive.

well said. hopefully he doesnt take it t he wrong way. although I am hopefull that he was just being funny with the "forum police" comment. Otherwise he is dogging a guy for doing his job and am sure he wouldn't like it if it were reversed. Quote:

Well, as a military man, I do happen to have thick skin so I don't take any of it as an insult. I apoligize for any insult i may have created. My comment was half joke/ half sarcasm. I was slightly annoyed that the whole comment was only telling me to post somewhere else, not offering any type of advise. For some odd reason that bugs me lol. In my defense, I was not throwing a "military card" for special privileges, the first part just happened to be directed at Burntnuts and the second at CHUD. I'll edit the previous post, thanks for the welcome to the forum, and nice truck!! Note: C*H*U*D, I apologize if you were offended by previous post Note #2: HOOAH!!!! I love Army vs Marine rivalry (in good sport/humor) hahahahaha Last edited by armycrawler101st; 09-21-2010 at 09:23 PM. |

I would be willing to bet that most (if not all) previous military personnel that play with crawlers and RCs in general were enlisted...not officers. I myself was a marine from 1995 to 2003....enlisted. I think it is because as enlisted guys, this is all we can afford. Haha. |

I don't think officers have the smarts to run crawlers. I was a weekender-11 years in the National Guard. Made it up to Specialist(corporal), got busted back down to private |

I would go with the Tamiya hummer, best choice in my opinion for what you want to do.Just outof curiousity where are you stationed out of? I served in the Canadian army working with the guys from the 101st during 2002 first tour in Afghanistan,I have long forgotten the names, but still remember the faces.Welcome to the site and can't wait to see how your build goes.

Tamiya M1025's are discontinued, I can't seem to find a body without having to buy the whole thing for $150. Gonna start looking at bodies just for still models. Might find something sweet with badass details.

Here's a pic from 2 1/2 years ago when I got my 1st AX-10, I just wanted to see how the Tamiya hardbody would look on the chassis. |
