| New Ax10
Hello this will be the second forum I have taken part in as I am also a regular user of bobs 4cycle and I find forums to be very helpful... I have just picked up my first real crawler i have an ax10 the ARTR version. It has a Novak 55t brushed motor and Novak Rooster Crawler Esc Jr High Torque Steering servo Traxxas 2 channel reciever and remote also has HB wheels and Tires... I have added some weights to the inside of the rims and alittle on top of the servo. I ahve not moved the battery yet which as of now is a Venom 3300 nimh but my next upgrade is to buy the 2 small 3 cell each 7.2 packs and put the on the front axle. I just installed integy msr11 billet piggy back shocks to all 4 corners today.. I would really like to find a toyota pick up body that would fit my truck even if I half to do quite a bit of cutting I am just not having much luck finding anything.. Thanks in advance

Here is a picture of it I have had the truck for 10 days and I just got the shocks on it today... they seem to be a great improvement over stock http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/a...0925002316.jpg |

Sounds like you need to start looking more into the scale section to get more ideas. The sky is the limit depending on your skill at fabing up tube and plastic. the best "stock body" out there for what you are talking about is probably the Honcho Pics can be posted by hosting them on a pic site, like photobucket....then just right click, copy, paste. Just make sure they are sized correctly. Last edited by BLKXJ 96; 09-25-2010 at 11:39 PM. |

I would just like for it to look more like a truck instead of a comp crawler not wanting to make it a scale rig just more real looking then the ax10 body..

I found the readers rides section in the ax10 section here gave me a lot of ideas. Look at the pictures on the later pages though as the first 20 pages or so seem pretty much stock and the later posts are from when more companies are making add on parts for the ax10 and the first pages seem to be more of a stock variety. Someone must make a replacement body for the tamiya hilux though and I would start looking there for a toyota body but tamiya stuff tends to be a little on the costly side.

I use 3/16 steel solid welded, brake line seems to be most popular... Learn how to braze and use aluminum that'll be the direction of the rest of my builds | |
