Default HBJ T1E S-chassis build

Hey all, after watching the 2.2s trucks at ECC I decided to revisit this class and as we all know the newest craze is light weight trucks. So I started by paying a visit to longtime friend and crawl guy BTF (Nick) at the fabulous T1E compound here in Alabama. I got to preview a lot of new innovations while at the research and development center and I must say if you aint on the T1E bandwagon you soon will be. While at the compound I also visited the production shop and wow. Picked up some modern goodies for the 2.2 truck as well as the LW 2.2s chassis. Its gonna be great.

Just got back from T1E with the new 2.2s truck chassis, Here ya go, Something pretty nice is the skid as you can see Nick thought of everything as the skid is reversible for those who choose not to mirror the transmission!!

Chassis prep,
As with all carbon fiber chassis you should really take a few minutes and sand the edges lightly with a light grit sand paper to stop them fraying/splitting.
Take caution to avoid inhaling any of the (CF) dust as it is a health hazard, and I strongly recommend the use of some rubber gloves to help prevent getting a splinter from it, it can snap as you try to remove it!
Next the edges wil need sealing with resin (but superglue will do) to stop them fraying/splitting. Clean up with some nail polish remover and your done!

Looks good Joe.

You can use Red Loctite to seal the edges of C.F. also & not have all the mess & fumes of SuperGlue.

Assembly, pretty straight forward, took a couple of minutes to figure out the nuts and bolts and then BAM one nice arse little chassis!!!!

at the moment i am going to use T1E delrin SS links for the lowers and some aluminum for the uppers, once the correct geometry (length) is found I will order some titanium.

Good to see the CF stage. I've been running a Moonbuggy Shafty for several years and I'm loving it. The S looks like the same geometry exactly which makes me very happy it's a proven performer.

Yeah I'd love some CF. I'll have to update, but I'm not planning on attending the Nats and my club doesn't follow the USRCCA body rule in Sporty which is good IMO.

It looks fantastic.
