Default Driveshaft rings

I bought stampede drive shafts for a small upgrade over my stock pieces which have served well. Was planning on also installing Axial rings, but after looking, I'm a bit confused. Because the ears from the yoke sit between the ears from the shaft it seems the rings must have to locate so far back they hardly do any good.

Surely you don't put the rings over all four ears since it would bind. So how do these things work? And as an alternative, is heat shrink tubing considered equivalent to rings?

The rings fit over the two ears on the shaft, as those are the two that will twist and bend or break. You want to use the metal yokes, not the plastic ones.

Shrink wrap will not work at all. The only time you'd want it on your driveshaft would be when you are using MIP or Junfac or Losi shafts that are a cvd setup. The shrink wrap will keep the pins from working their way out.
