Default TCS Twistex Build

Kevin is thinking outside the box again and came up with a new AX10 chassis. I have been thinking of building a sportsman so I asked Kevin about his new chassis. Michelle of Krawler Koncepts got a hold of me with the offer to build one and post a thread of it, so here it is.

Sense my work mat is black I wanted you to be able to see the chassis parts.

Here's the pivot points for the front. Kevin had to pay for these.

He even included the HPI body mounts and a set of Axial high steering knuckles witch I'm grateful for. I decided I will also be doing the over/under drive and a little beefier lockers and trans.
Thank You Kevin and Michelle

That looks like some parts from an air conditioner.

Ready to see what it looks like built up.

Those are from older 10th or 12th scale onroad cars. I recognized those parts in the pics in the other twistex thread. I should be involved in a build of one of these soon......paging Ricky!!

So here it goes. You need one of these

And one of these

Use the flat sided one first

Put the pivot ball in the middle

and put it together with the hardware Kevin provides

Now your ready to bolt it to the chassis

Sorry about some of the pics, My cameras has auto light adjustment.
You want to make sure to bolt it to the right side of the chassis plate.
Kevin has the servo mount for behind the axle and it will be on the left side. The block side is gonna be the speed control.

Now in the same bag is a round pivot socket.

again, the pivot ball goes inside and its bolted together with Kevin's hardware.

Then that's bolted to the same side of the chassis.

I hope no one is offended by obvious parts and how to bolt them together but we all know someone is gonna ask so this being the build thread for Kevin I wanted to make sure and explain everything.

So now we are gonna use the second package of pivot housings and balls and the second part of the chassis.

Now you need to make sure you bolt them to the right side. The chassis is gonna end up with the trail going to the right side.

So it needs to be turned over and the pivots bolted to the bottom.

Very interesting looking chassis, subscribed, i am looking to update my ax-10, at least on of them, and this chassis looks promising.

So now to assimilable the chassis. Body mounts first. Only one place to put the front but lots of places to mount the rear,

Got all the spacers and bolts lined out

You have to put the upper chassis brace on first

Then the front,2 long bolts, spacers and seperators

Then bolts and spacers for the rest of the chassis

And here's it together

and here's the weight

Now I have to build some axles and tranny.
