Default Rockpussie The new Bond Girl

Secret Agent Kevin with TCS sent me this bag of parts like I 've never seen. And then gave me the mission of figuring out how to make a crawler out of this strange looking bag of parts he calls Twistex.

I stared at them for a week or so. And did some spying on some other agent that had a lot of detailed pics of Twistex . TCS Twistex Build

After getting this chassis together, I stood back and looked at the sexy shape this chassis had. At that moment I knew this was the new Bond Girl, the one everyone will want.
Rockpussie ! is the name I'm tagging on this rig.

I knew if any body could help me to make this a real crawler, it would have to be the smartest crawler guy I know, Manning.
So I grabed all the parts I had and rushed to Mad Mike Manning's Crawler laboratory. We threw our parts together and made it come to life.
We did some testing and took a little video. I'll get it up soon.

Untill then, Over and out..........

This was taken in Mad Mike Manning's laboratory, it's all I got. For some strange reason I have lost some pics in my camera.

This was the sunset Manning and I shared when we tested Rockpussie at Fake Dams

Ok, this is Rockpussie's 1st run on some rocks at Manning's lab and then we went to Fake Dams ,one of our comp spots. This video is uncut.

After we tested, we threw some ideas around and I took it home to see what happens next.
I'l be reporting soon.
Over and out.

Neato. Looks like it could use some dampening to tame the flopping...

Thats what we decided, it needs a couple of shocks. I'm working on it.

My thoughts exactly. I bet a pair of touring car shocks would be plenty, and they are pretty small too...

With no suspension up travel it won't "plant". Same thing with the old TCS Stick.

With no dampening or no spring at all, it won't work. Dampening will slow down the flop/twist, or the spring will resist it. Both would be ideal. We all know this.

The 1st thing Mike and I noticed was how much chassise flex it had, so we knew that had to be fixed and it needed dampening. We also noticed it was a 1/2 short on wheelbase.
So here's what I got.

I made the , well, uh, I'll call it the rear axle/ tranny plate. I cut the same shape of the thinner piece, but streched the back a half inch.

Then I remade the top plate to be able to mount a shock to it, I made a new cross bar to the pivets so a shock could be mounted to it. I dremeled me a shock mount and mounted it on the front plate. I had these 70mm king scale shocks that just might work.
