My build it and forget it attitude would say CC Micro sidewinder, SCX10 shocks, and Crawler innovations T-Maxx driveshaft kit. It's lighter and smoother than the MIP's but still very strong. Plus it upgrades the transmission outputs at the same time. Don't forget the over under gears for the axles. If you add overdrive gears to the front the T-maxx shafts are a direct fit for the most part and you will be able to eliminate one of the adapters. The overdrive pinion is drilled so the through pin for the driveshaft is a direct fit more or less. Hope I didn't confuse. trust me its a lot easier than it sounds. With the T-maxx shafts there are no set screws to loosen up like they do on other style shafts all the time. Enjoy!!!

X2, mip, scx, fx-r..

I'm sitting just over 4lbs with heavy wheels (by todays standards), all steel RR tranny gears, mips, 7980.. All the heavy goodies.. The fx-r isn't any heavier then a cc micro after you decase it and it is 100 times more reliable! I'm the 3rd owner of the fx-r in my sporty an 2ND owner of half a dozen more..
