I have been following your thread, the best thing to do is to set gates up when you practice. Crawling around on rocks and picking fun lines is one thing but practicing with gates changes a lot about how you drive and the lines you pick. If you find a line is too easy change the position of the gates, this way you can learn how your rig reacts in different situations. I'll be around and help you at Rausch, I'll see you when we tech you in.

Thanks for the compliments Chris.
Another old 1:1 crawler saying is "chrome don't get you home"
My rig might be pretty, but we were within 4 points of each other after the "comp" we had at Sam Louis.
Great job building your rig.
I hope your rig does awesome in whatever class at the comp (thereby meaning that mine is awesome too...haha!)

If you are upside down on two flakes and your body isn't on the ground but you have to reverse to get back on your wheels but never lose your forward progress is there any penalties?

I had some success today made all gates 16" and kept scoring easy nothing like a real comp just something easy to keep track of how I did. Reverse 2 gate touch 10 rollover 10 vehicle touch 10 thats about all I kept track of. Scored 44 point on first course 20 on 2nd and had to give up on the 3rd because kids kept taking the gates after I reset tem 3 time I just gathered my stuff and left.

Noticed a problem with my rig today it seems while squeaking my tires back and forth I'd get a twitch then the rig would jump forward on its own. Not to sure what to make of it my esc and reciver have plenty of separation between them. Maybe my wiring all running close together has somw signal interference? Or my antenna being sandwiched between the receiver and my aluminum servo/4link plate for about an inch before it is exposed? Only other thing new is the savox servo I just installed. The hobby shop set my bec to 6.1v and told me thats what they recommend to power a 6v servo? Any thoughts

Maybe this helps im running 2s batts with the tekin fxr and 35t pro motor and it seems to happen when the pack is running down but not to the point it hit lvc. Everything is wired as per manufacturer suggests.

Re: 5.10 The old school shafty

I agree. I hate to say it but some escs just like 2s better. Every time I've come across the " jumpy" rig thing, it's been the batt vs esc. I just switched to 3s about 2 months ago. I had such a hard time giving up 2s because of having zero problems with my electronics. I really needed the extra juice of 3s on roll overs and stuff.

Re: 5.10 The old school shafty

By the same tokin, my micro side winders and the wife's fxr won't run on 2s. They both need 3s and they are super smooth. I believe the micros do the jump thing and fxr won't run at all until a 3s is plugged in. I think she gets servo response and no throttle. Something like that.

winnerone23 08-04-2013 03:04 PM

X2, go 3s.. or bump ur esc up some(6.3-6.4). Either way the savox servos are amp hungry an will steal all they can get. Main reason I just traded 2 savox 1230 for 1 hitec 7950. Even trade? Not to most ppl.. to run a hitec, to me.. YES..

the brxl couldn't even feed the savox or tekin rs with cc bec set at 6v. So its gone.

chris.martell 08-04-2013 05:49 PM

Thanks guys I was wondering if the new savox sero was steeling all my power. I've been running a jr9000t servo that is on its way out or so I think, but with all the same electronics and the jr servo never had a glitch and my rig was silky smooth.

Troy I haye to ask such a stupid question but do you mean bump my bec up to 6.3-6.4 or the esc?

Bec. The esc is factory 5v.. I believe.. no changing that.

40 points would point you out and you would only get the progress taken off your socre until that point.

Lets say that you got through gate 8 on a 10 gate course and then pointed out. You had 3 gates (+10 each=+30) 2 rollovers (+5 each=+10)

so it would be -16 for progress of 8 gates and +40 points you out.

take the -16 away for the progress from the +40 for penalties to find your score for the course which would be (+24)

-2 per progressed gate

+1 for a reverse
+10 for each gate, (a touch, reposition, repair. Go back to last progressed gate.)

+5 for a rollover

Clock runs if you have a repair, so fix it fast.
