Crackhead hooked my bec to his computer for me and told me its set to 6.5v after hitting the search button its left me wondering if maybe thats to high cause im running on 2s and at 6.5 its robbing all my batts power faster and causing a twitch. Do you all think 6.5 will burn up the servo? Should I turn it down a little and see if that helps. Winnerone23 you suggested 6.3 or 6.4 maybe those are safer numbers? Guess ill be going 3s and hopefully never look back! Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2 |

I run mine at 6. I know you can safely go higher but safety first for me. I've never burned a servo up. I would change it if I ever felt like I could really jam it up but I just don't need it. I really can't express enough how much of a change it is to switch to 3s. Just as long as your esc is set for it, you'll be in business.

I'm with David, go 3s an you Won't look back! The fxr will be fine with 3s, just switch it to 3s in the settings. I run a 7980 @ 7.4.. I'm not sure what its like having less.. hell my 1.9 has a 7950 in it. Nothing like having it when you need it, instead of wishing you had it when you need it.. I didn't realize what I didn't have till I upgraded. Now, like switching to 3s, having it is Awesome! |

Another positive 3S user, I swapped from 2S and even though I've only had maybe a dozen packs through my AE-2 it makes life a whole lot easier. Make the jump - you'll not regret it!

The good news is Merc turned my bec to 6.0v and that fixed my glitch issues, but on the flip side I F'ed up a battery last night by turning my esc off and not realizing that I didn't unplug it and the bec and servo drained it completely and now its all puffy. Ya I'm a dumb a$$ I know common since says always unplug the battery no matter what but hey common since isn't so common these days and I just learned a lesson the hard way :banghead: Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2 |

Actually, the lesson is to cut the esc switch wires and solder them together. Now you HAVE to unplug to turn things off and the esc switch can't accidently turn off at the worst possible time.

Now that I think of it, why can't esc mfgrs supply a couple short wires for us to power external becs? They could route them through the switch and make things a lot less ugly in the wiring mess. At least Castle could do it on their escs since we all buy their external bec anyway.

Soldering the bec to the on/off switch. Would that be the same as soldering it to the power wires? Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2 |

I'm thinking ur best bet is soldering it to the power wires or best, right to the battery posts of the esc..

Thats what I did I soldered them and the battery wires stright to the battery posts. Thinking of trying to open the case and put the on/off wires inside if possible to give it a super clean work but im worried it wont go back together right. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2 |

| Re: 5.10 The old school shafty No. If those two wires were the same as pos & neg power wires, then the switch would be shorting them. They're more like just one wire that the switch interrupts.

I was impressed with the AE-2's bleeping when it was at rest for 30 seconds or so. It must be simple to do by all of the manufacturers? I wasn't the first to kill a battery in similar fashion and you won't be the last. Better luck next time, my favourite at the minute is leaving the tx switched on and the alarm sounding early hours |
