Default Disabled Dig in 2.2s class comps

Any rules against having a dig installed on a 2.2s during a comp if it is not used?

I want to build a sports rig and keep the Dig I have installed cause its awesome.

If in a comp just have it in neutral and rely on over/under drive? I mean it would be pretty obvious if one was to light up his dig unit suddenly while eyes are on you so I cant see what the issue would be, just a little extra fat at the end of the day..

No issue at all.

Nobody runs the unit, simply to save the weight.

You are fine.

If you're comping under USRCCA rules, then...

2.5.7 - Vehicles are limited to the use of 2 radio channels (one for steering and one for throttle) only. Neither channel can be used to perform more than one function. Radio systems with more than two channels are allowed, but only two channels may be used to control the vehicle.

No mention of dig being installed. You just can't use it.

If you're running under local rules, then it's up to your club committee to decide what you can or can't do.

yea thats what I saw as well Solitaire, but I thought I had read somewhere on here that you cant even have one installed which would be rediculous. I like my sporty to drive like my pro. Back a few years ago when I was comping (poorly) you could run a shafty in the pro class if you wanted so dig was mandatory.

I like the idea of no dig, but wouldnt sac my dig to run just one way, I rather my shafty swing both ... ways...

There are no comps where I live within a >2hr drive anyhow, I think Naniamo just started up last summer to have comps but I think it was a more "anything goes" style. Like most guys would be rollin wraiths and junk so I never really was overly motivated to hit it up. Maybe I will if I move closer down island or get my shafty up n at'r.

Thanks for the clarity gentlemen.

Well, if you're ever in the Vancouver area on a weekend, you are certainly welcome to comp with us. We run 2.2 Pro and 2.2 Sporty. I'm sure the rest of the gang wouldn't mind if you used the same truck in both classes.

Here's our schedule for 2015
