Today I started a new build, This one am calling Old Pop's, Some of you might remember this one or might have put one together yourself, like myself back in the day when these came out. Todays pictures show the way I got it and then some show it taken apart. just don't know how old the grease is or the bearings might be (did find some bad bearings "frozen") The kit looks brand new. the body was painted green (to bad) might do something with it, if anybody has any ideals on the body let me know. The seller also sent a 2nd body with it, think its a ford body? Went down to my basement and found some old parts to a AX-10 I might use them on the refresh. Lot of you know me and know I have other builds going on, this kit will get some new parts, like fast eddy bearings and a new kit of hardware from KNK. I might go old school and go brushed on this build, let me know in the comments below what you would do? Like always enjoy the build and please leave any Questions or Comments and stay safe out there ~MyJrbear ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() . |

Did you ever get it put together? I've been thinking about doing an AX10 build, since I still have some really nice SCX10 axles and hop-ups which were forgotten when I jumped into the SCX10 II world. I had a Redcat Everest 10 for a couple of months, but sold it because it needed a complete overhaul in my opinion, which rendered it pointless to keep, so now I think I want a TVP frame so I can make my own. I think I have everything else except some appropriate length shocks.

Today I have a build update on the old pops, sorry that it took awhile for a build update. some of you know I been out sick, but am 100% now and ready to get back building. Matter of fact you can see some of my other builds here: MyJrBear's 1.9 Wraith "Ghostcrawler" Build or here: MyJrbear's Scx-10 3 "Copperhead" Build ok so now to the old pops build, as you can see I have started putting it back together. the tranny housing went together great, I did install a new Vanquish motor mount and gear guard, it did not seem it fit the build that well. I do have a old version of the motor mount in silver coming, see if it fits better? The old grease that was in it was so old it was almost like a ash and web looking, so needed to clean all that off and used cow rc udder butter grease for rebuilding. And did use avid bearings in the tranny and then fast eddy bearings for the rest. And using a new stainless steel screw kit. More build pictures to come and like always leave any Questions or Comments. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() . |

Today I have a update on the old pop's build, In some of the new picture's you will notice I had to change a few things. I could not use the new Vanquish motor mount and gear cover, had to use the older version of the same thing to fit. The new one was hitting the skid plate and was making the tranny not sit flush with the skid. I added the strc green link and took out the stock. And then you will see the Original Ax-10 B-17 betty body, its the way it came. I want to try to get it painted same way as stock the best way I can. There is no sticker sheet that was in the box when I got it :( so if anyone has any ideal's, suggestions please post them. And yes it will not see the light of day, it will be a shelf queen, it is very rare and non-replaceable. Like always please enjoy the build and ask any Questions or Comments. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() . Today I have a update on the old pop's build. As you can see in the picture the wheels came with weights on them, took them off and then put them back together. And I want to thank you for all the msg's on the tranny not looking right. So I did put back the ori. tranny back in. I did have the Aluminum shock body upgrade for these shock's, which was a very nice addon for these's crawlers. And in one of the picture's you will see a white bladder, have no ideal why this was in one of the 4 shocks, but its out now. Still don't have the decals for this build, still looking. Enjoy the build and Please leave any Questions or comments. ~Myjrbear ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() . |

I don't think this is a restomod? It's still stock. It's a ax-10 that has not been used at all. and for the tires they are very hard to find rock lizards and the wheels, that look like they just came from the factory. | |

This may be the first ax10 I’ve seen. I will be following along, thanks. Looks like open differentials from the factory? |

Yeah don’t ditch those wheels/tires. My favorite part of the build so far. Found one of these on local FB market listed as an SCX10 but passed on it, was a little worse for wear. But it almost got me lol.

I also agree on keeping those tires, I think they are one of the coolest looking RTR tires. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
