What is the green (brand &/or name of color) that Axial is using in this picture. Any Idea what they are using for a backing color? thanks. http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/Press...04-07/AX10.htm |

If I had to guess I would say it was a Candy green (transparent) backed with either Alcad or silver.

I talked to Axial and he told me what color he used, but I can't remember. For mine I used Parma Faspearl Key Lime, I think it looks pretty good. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJME1&P=7 Axial AX-10 Picture archive - No talking |

I think the closest you'll get (without a direct answer) would be Jason's suggestion. I can tell you its not Tamiya Polycarbonate Light Green. |

Yes I would guesstimate it being a acrilic based paint. The pactra's and tamiyas are not that bright. I'd think it's like Jason's except backed with alcad to give it that mirrored metallic look.

We used Auto Air candy apple green, backed with Alclad chrome paint for the green. The grey is a custom mix of Faskolor black and silver. Thanks, Axial |

@ Axial: The only apple green I could find from Auto Air was 04 4237 Transparent Apple Green The only candy green i could find was 04 4609 Candy Emerald Green I think it's the transparent one. Right? Greetings from Austria (no kangaroos), a new infected crawler - soon (My AX10 is not shipped jet) |

Quoting rcpaintworks.........If you want to resemble the box art body painting with faskolor paints - the body is key lime, the roof is a mix of 1/2 pear silver + 1/2 faskrome + some drops of pearl black to get the gun metal, front pumper is black. Coat inside with black and then with faskoat.

Try House of Kolor for the answer. It is Pagan Green if I'm not mistaken. Fascolor also has a very similar green for poly bodys.

What do yall back the Faskolor & Faspearl paints with to make them more durable (resistant to abrasion & water)? What & how much do yall thin them with also? |

Faskolor - thin one teaspoon of water to a one ounce bottle – no more. Back it with FasKoat or a lacquer based paint. |

Thanks for all the replies, last question: can you use a "tamiya" can paint (spray can) over the faskolor or will the two paints have a reaction?

kbc 02 lime green from house of kolor, its a near perfect match to the wheels, if you notice they are green in the dark and yellow in the light and this paint reproduces that effect nearly perfectly with the pearls that have been added this is a "kandy basecoat" so it isnt clear it is solid but still produces the "candy color" being opauqe i'll try and get pics up soon you can order small quanities through coastairbrush.com |
