Cool My new Ridgecrest

Well gotta start out and say hi lol, I have more or less just read everyone's posts for a while now and finally made a profile and registered so I can post....

As the title states, I just picked up a ridgecrest today. I took it home and soldered up some deans and took it to a nearby trail we run our trucks on.

We have trucks ranging from honchos and dingos to wraiths, trailfinders, and crawlers. And so my impulse buy was really from my current trail honcho bodied truck bein broke down as usual lol. I guess what I'm trying to say is we get to see how everything compares to our hill climbs, mud bogs, rocks and stream crossings. Most of you probably know this but the wraith usually beats or matches any other truck we run out there. So today I unboxed the Rcrest and put her thru our somewhat harsh course/trail.

The results weren't too bad. Other than figuring out that I need my battery moved to the front of the truck, she did quite well on everything out of the box! Nothing was broke, I did have an issue with my battery sliding out and dragging alongside but it really only did that when I would hit small logs and pin it making her do back flips while only landing a handful of them hahaha.

The Ridgecrest is fast, maybe too fast for trail running but with a little restraint you can manage just fine. As for the slow stuff? She did good there on our tight rock and narrow passes. It's late and I know I could go on more about this truck but I will later lol so wrapping this up I would recommend this truck for anyone looking to do a little of everything well!

Thanks, some people do not like the way it looks...... I cant say I loved it when I first saw it however it really starts to grow on you..... I may keep the body right where its at..... possible jeep body or modded dingo body in the future.... who knows, just see how it rolls.

I think that truck is gonna do great in it's element. It's built for exactly what you're doing with it.

I feel the same way. At first I didn't care much for it, but it looks better in person, and the more I drive it the more I like it. Now I think it looks pretty cool.

Any plans on adding a scale looking body? It would sell like hot cakes if it had a more scale looking body on it.

I have been thinking a little about an extra honcho body I have but i would possible have to modify and or make a different roll cage/flat bed for it. I have an old K5 blazer body that looked kinda cool sitting on it, however if I do a scale body smaller tires would have to be added aswell to prevent the tires munchin the body too much haha.

I also remedied my battery floppin out problem with another velcro strap. I also moved the battery forward for more of a middle mount position.

i love that original body. would like to see one go against a wraith, speed , crawling , mud bogging etc. i have a wraith and an scx10 which is fantastic and has never let me down. the wraith to me is an almost run......... its a nearly but not quite. i need it to be a quick mudder but its never hit the spot with me !

It does really well versus my other two friends wraiths that are both modded slightly.... I'd say the same if not better..... I'm wanting droop shocks and I think that's all I want to do other than tires and beadlocks
