Default 1/8 scale ridgecrest

I was hoping to build a 1.9 scaler outof a ridgecrest but the axles are to wide so I have kicked it up to a 1/8 2.2 sized truck. 21'' c channel frame, 14'' wheelbase, Im using a slash body for a cab and building a flatbed. all electronics are tucked under the cab along with the transmission. Its about 75% done with a few tweaks to go but its looking pretty good and slash bodys are the perfect width for ocp60 axles.

For some reason i cant pull the pictures from my phone, ill take more tomorrow and post.

slash bodys are a good width but most of them are fastback/racetruck styled so im just using the cab. I most likely will use the raptor true scale because its the least "race preped" slash body i can find...except the old chevy sedan body lol. front driveline is a little steep but it doesnt bind so im gona live with it till it causes a problem. planning on making rear dig with all those spare shafts the truck comes with since im gona have to add to shaft legnth anyway.

Done with the frame, now for assembly and cosmetic stuff. If the frame works out I may cad a similar design and have a friend waterjet it, kind of like the tcs *~trail stuff.

Anyone have any recamendations on a front bumper? the rails are 4" wide(outside to outside) and the body will be 10~12" wide.

I have the axles and tranny in but im not happy with the suspension, under combined flex and steering the tires hit the front shocks pretty badly, I may have to inbord them or lay them back although I like the way they look now. I guess I can do internal springs on a old set of losi shocks I have that are smooth and are one piece body (no caps) so its less for tires to grab and a little smaller diamiter, there also shorter so it would also limit travel. the rear works fine after I limited the shocks a little.

Got the front end worked out, so far its looking good, mounted the lower shock on the outside of the mounts and got the shock alignment and ride hight I was looking for.

I got the suspension all worked out the way I want it, ended up with about 6 inches of flex which is more than enough for a tral/mudbog/rock jumper. I got my temporary body in place and now I'm working on the flatbed, its going to be a wood bed trimmed in aluminum with some kind of headache rack. proline has a set of bumpers that look pretty good and there were extra wide so I think they may fit nicely. but anyway here's some pictures of the progress!
