Default DJ's 2.2s 5th D Suckerpunch

G day from Down Under.

well its been a long time coming but its finally there.

here it is my 5th D Suckerpunch.

thanks to:

-Travis: for answering my stupid questions, and making a killer chassis.
-Eric: for supplying the axle trusses. and also answering my stupid questions
-Reece: (Greasterman, a local Aussie) for helping me out by holding the chassis for me
-Mr Links: (another local Aussie and a great mate) for the custom links and help setting up the car.
-Hulksta: for supplying the sway bar kit and helping out with my stupid questions
-Beefed RC: for the custom AR60 Beef-tubes.
-Lastly the boys from Onetencrawlers.com for the other parts on this build.

one last thing before the photos, The Shell has been painted (by myself) as a tribute to 2 of the most courageous people i know. For fighting cancer and surviving.

my mother is 10 yrs clear of breast cancer (pink ribbon) and my father in law is currently recovering from Chemo for his leukemia.

Respect from another survivor.
lymphoma knocked on my door...
I punched it in the face and kicked it when it was down.
If it's smart,It will not come back or it will get more of the same.
Good looking rig man.

Looks like you are off to a great start. Sits higher than I prefer but I know you said you guys run a lot of breakovers.

Get telling your family to keep fighting the good fight

So after a couple of comps I've made a few minor tweaks,

Bta steering, shortened the front links to 105mm eye to eye and lengthened the rear to suit. In doing so I had to make some extensions for my swaybar.

I will hopefully have some photos and maybe a video of my rig on course from today's comp.

Tell you what, full width axles with 850 hubs has been challenging to master, but I sure showed some of those, "narrow" rigs today, I have a feeling I pulled 2nd or 3rd today.

Some pics from today's comp. Didn't place as high as I thought I would, pulled 4th.

The rock a fingal Headlands is, the best way to describe it, like coffee rock in appearance, but the grip level is insane, it just grabs your sidewalls and snags you.

I was one of only two driver's to finish course 1, I dnf'd course 2 on time. and was the only driver to get the bonus gate on course 3.

A few silly boundary penalties is what cost me 2nd or 3rd place.

There was some really nice side hilling and cross cut transitions that the wide stance just ate up, and made it look like child's play compared to the ax2xr axled rigs,

The more I drive it the less trouble I'm having with tight gates, I can just about put my car anywhere a narrow axle rig goes, and some places they can't.

would you care to list all of the parts to your build for the new guy

i really like the looks of your setup... thanks

Did you start with just buying axles and a chassis or as a kit and stripped it down for parts?

So how did it work out? That's a great looking axle if it holds up...

What's the diameter of the carbon tubing?

Well, after today's drive I am happier with the tuning of my rig,

I adjusted the shock position (layed the rear shocks down one hole and stood the front shocks up one hole)

I've also lowered the car 5mm and lowered the body.

The other change I've made is to my foam setup.

My old CI double deuce foams were a bit long in the tooth, and the softs had started to break down, so as an experiment I have my old mediums in the front and i cut a set of outers from the stock losi foam for the rear,

To early to form a conclusive opinion, but early impressions are positive.

Pics and video to come,

Well after a brutal day on the rocks for our final round in 40 + deg Celsius (104 Deg Fahrenheit)

I've finished 4th for the season
