Default Has Anyone Added a Front Bumper ???

To some, this will be a "strange" idea...and, to others, it will sound like a great idea - adding a front bumper (such as a stinger) to the Capra. Has anyone done this yet? If so, did you use an already-manufactured bumper, or did you design/build your own? Did you go with a plastic, or metal, bumper?

If already-manufactured, what brand/model, and did you install it as-is (just referring to the bumper, itself, and not the mounting), or did you modify the bumper (particularly, the width) to fit the Capra's width? Or, maybe, instead of purchasing an already-manufactured bumper, did you 3D print one from a file on Thingiverse, TurboSquid, Free3D, etc?

To give others some ideas, please, share photos of your Capra's added bumpers.

There is a guy on FB that posted about entering a comp at his local place as long as he has a chassis mounted bumper. He has some pics of what he came up with on there. Looks like a small stinger mounted under the front wheel well tubes of the cage.

I don't see the point. The whole cage is a bumper.

"I don't see the point. The whole cage is a bumper."

The cage is a chassis. To compete in certain classes you need a bumper mounted to the chassis. It's more of a rules thing than an actual need for it.

Which is exactly why I asked. Figured, a 'stinger' style bumper would work, and look, best...but, uncertain if anyone has actually tried, or come up with one.

The idea of adding a bolt on bumper to a tube style chassis to meet a rule set seems asinine at best.

But a lot of the scale rules have been idiotic for years, so...

Did you check the one I mentioned on FB? His is a stinger style with room for a winch. Looks pretty good too.

I was just about to say something similar. Saying "a guy on FB" could be any of 10s of thousands (or millions) of people.

Thanks for catching that...tho, I gotta admit, it did give me a REALLY good laugh (which I sorely needed). Anyway, I've corrected the thread title.

What I was think initially. But with the quality 3D prints out there it could easily be a replacement front section of tube work.

I just finished the bumper last night. 3/16” stainless and stainless skid plate. It attaches to the forward shock holes for head-on impact strength. No clearance issues. The sides are tapped into the flat panel, just behind the grille screws.

I don’t know why the picture is upside down.

Love your use of the Creep fenders, as well as that bumper - very creative and unique!

And I was wondering when I was gonna see someone use those wheels - They are from Injora, right?

I haven't seen many home built capra bumpers yet but this is the best looking imo so far. Love the low profile design.. looks like it has great clearance. I just did a new grill and I'd love to be able to protect it with something like this. Awesome job.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I'm finally happy with the outcome.

As for the wheels, I got them on Ebay, "Alientac Model #119"
