Screamer yes still need to make adjustments to the rear upper links. Thanks for the information on the wraith links.

How did the 2.2 wheels work with the 1.9 Flat Iron XLs? The tire roll was driving me nuts yesterday while crawling (not bouncing). Got home and reread this thread a few times. This is good stuff. Looks awesome and seems like it would perform better.

Crawler Innovations Deuces Wild foams will fix that too if you still want to run a 2.2 tire.

I also like the looks of the 1.9 tire on the 2.2 wheel. I have no idea what size CI foams would be best for that config.

Maybe some of the novas for 2.2 and pull the outer ring off?

Had some time to work on the bomber today. I was able to adjust the rear upper links so drive shaft could be straight.

Got some new part for the bomber. Thanks to Death Metal Garage for the accessories and RPP hobby for the fast service! Going to install a rear axial EXO radiator part # AX80103
Also going to install a slim line roof rack with a light bar part # GEA1308
More pictures to come with new wheels, tires.

Finally had time to test out the bomber today. Happy with the way I performed but still need to adjust some minor things to it.

Thanks for posting the pics of the tires and wheels. I really like this build for more than just looks, but it does look totally bad ass.

Any issues getting the Flat Irons on the rims? What foams are you using? Have you tried any slow crawling with this set up?

My TH arms are in the mailbox. Hopefully I can get them mounted tonight. I may have to hack together some uppers, but I think I get something good enough to test. I haven't decided on a wheel yet. RC4WD offered to test fit some 1.9 Flat Irons on the MT-28 wheels using the Pro-Line adapter. Hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.

Deckard no issues installing the tires on the wheels. I'm using the stock foams that came with the tires for now. I also did some crawling and tires worked great. The only thing I need to adjust is going to be the shocks.

Looks great. I love that the Vaterra arms fit right up. It's a nice $12 option if you're just wanting to try it out. I'm also wondering how tough it was to mount those flat irons. I'd love to do 1.9 FIs and VP Method 105s for another build I'm working on.

What did you use for your upper links? Are you going to put the sway back on?

I installed the TW TRs last night. I was able to rig up some upper trailing arms to get a decent angle on the pinion. I used some Revo ends and ends from a 5B sway bar to get the Axial Bomber sway bar working. I still need to tweak the sway bar a bit, I don't really like the feel of it.

I'm surprised at how much betterlooks with the TH arms, even with the stock tires.

I'm too cheap to get Vanquish wheels. I'm just trying to find a 2.2 rim that's cheap and will hold the Pro-Line bead. I'm with spending around $80, but I don't want to spend $80 and have the bead slipping out.

ProLine Faultline 6lugs are less than $60 for all four. Light weight, SLW compatible, and are made to hold PL beads like a vice.

Looks like to much work I'll leave the bomber the way it's supposed to be. Just my $0.02.

Deckard to be honest with you this build has been funded by sticker sales. I have entered multiple sticker sales and I have been very lucky and won some very good items with very little money. The items that I have won and I don't have use for them I have resold them and made a good profit. The Vanquish Wheels have been the first set I have ever owned.

Silver2011 this is what I like about this Hobby you can create your imagination!

What are these sticker sales and how can I make RCing money with them?

In no way was I busting on money being spent on Vanquish wheels. I would bust on you if you put spinners on it though.

You created a very sweet mod for the Bomber that really doesn't cost much at all. What got me coming back to this thread was the look of the Flat Irons on 2.2s. Crawler tires have always looked they have too much sidewall and those FL 1.9 look sweet. Then after a day of really crawling and watching the Bomber spend way too much time on it's belly, I really got interested in this thread because of the TH trailing arms.

I did a quick test run on some rocks in front of the house tonight. Very noticeable how much better it is at crawling. I saw no downside at speed either. The bonus, it looks more like the 1:1 now.

I don't get how someone can look at this mod and think it's too much work. Different tires, shorter trailing arms and links from spare rods in the parts box. It's not like we're adding plates for new transmissions or wiring Christmas lights in the cage. This is a really easy way to make the Bomber a better crawler for basically $12. Free if you have a Twin Hammers.
