I understand what you're saying. The title says pinion advice. He was asking about pinions. Screamer, you have this habit of cluttering a simple answer with a bunch of extraneous info. You're talking about slippers and their adjustments. We both know there's 15 different ways to speed up or slow down wheel speed. He asked for this one. Slippers have no place on a rig used as a crawler. If you break it's due to your trigger finger. Having a slipper can and will keep you from making an obstacle. I have a robinson slipper on one rig and a traxxas unit on another. I run them both cranked down and locked. The robinson was a simple way to get a steel spur with the offset I wanted. The traxxas unit is very light and let's me use cheap traxxas spur gears. |

This thread is full of "opinions" OP. Take them for what they are.

Geeze WT, he specifically asked about slipper Spurs and adjustment. He didn't ask you about 4s or the experience you have with a non Bomber transmission. Having a slipper will not keep you from making an obstacle. Lack of skill in building, tuning, and/or driving will. BTW, shouldn't you be in the Yeti forum recommending integy and boom racing parts to the poor new guys instead of following me around?

I run the stock motor in my Bomber with a 9T pinion and the stock spur gear. I also tightened the slipper clutch nut by one full rotation. I pretty much only do competitions and have only had one breakage. I broke two teeth off the factory plastic spur, replaced it with another stock one and so far so good. I was really bound in and I think that the stock plastic motor plate flexed a little bit.
