Default VP V2 Axle Housing ?

Snapped the stock axle housing today right at the two screws holding the passenger side shock mount.

Would like to upgrade the housing to aluminum but would also like to be able to use the stock lockouts and truss until I can afford to upgrade these as well.

Will this housing accept the stock truss?
Same question about the lockouts. The notching looked much different on the stock housing vs. The V2 and wasn't sure if I would need different lockouts for it.

Thanks .

A long rant also swearing that Hot Racing was good old American made craftsmanship. VP does provide hardware with their OCP axles. I know this was a deal breaker for you as well.

Yes all the stock plastic parts work on it. Or go with SSD, they include hardware. And its cheaper.

It appears they do by the pictures. Thanks for your contribution.

Beef tubes are good, I'm happy with mine for sure. Being able to tighten the screws knowing they're going into steel is a wonderful thing.

I'd go with a dlux modded housing with a U4 truss long before an alloy housing. Big inner pinion bearing is all that's needed to keep gears alive and the truss strengthens the housing a great deal while fixing the geometry of the front suspension and dropping the weight of the servo. Absolute win end to end.

Thought about that as well. Which do you think would add less weight?

They absolutely do, I stand corrected. have you looked at boom racing or Integy? They're way cheaper.

Found these for you. They're complete axles for less than $70. This has to be the cheapest out there. They're from the same place as Hot Racing so you're good to go on quality. Different shiny colors if you want too.

There's aluminum, stainless steel, brass and steel. Aluminum is the lightest. If you stay with plastic housing, check out dlux modded housing.

Thanks. I'll check out the aluminum. Any tube manufacturer you'd recommend? Are they all pretty much drilled and tapped now or is that just an SCX10 thing?

Why would you pay more for just a housing when you can buy the complete axle assembly for less?

First off it looks like shit. Secondly I don't need all of the other included crap. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. There aren't many options for a stock looking aluminum housing. RC4WD also makes a comparable housing for less.

I'm not trying to prove anything. You made it abundantly clear before, that price and inclusions are paramount when choosing a product regardless of brand name. You asked for an aluminum axle housing and I showed you the least expensive one I could find which just so happens to include everything. Why is all the other stuff crap? Good to have spares right? Especially when you're basically getting it for free with an aluminum housing.

I do believe my original question was about a VP axle housing.

You start asking about beef tubes also. I thought you were looking for the cheapest option again. I'm just trying to help you find what you're looking for.

Beef tubes make the aluminum, brass and steel. Beef up rc makes the stainless steel. All come already drilled and tapped, just install it and go.

Looks exactly like a factory housing but in aluminum from where I'm sitting.
