| Custom Bomber body question.
After seeing that a few people have done custom bodies on these rigs, why is it that nobody does an enclosed front? Do the tires come close to hitting the chassis and would take the body out at full lock and full bump, mashing your wheel wells? There are so many off the hook rigs here yet nobody has done one. Just curious as to why, or is that not a "traditional" body for one of these rigs? It would look cool for weeks! Forgive the baja/desert guy’s KOH ignorance, I'm new to this aspect of the rc world, and it looks like fun.

I have a jeep body on mine. Had to do alot of mods to get it to fit. I seperated the hood and front fendeqrs from sides at the front of the doors. It was a simple mount just used velcro on body and frame. Sides only go to back wheels. I made a body just like stock out of .025 aluminum, thinking about a full alum. body that wraps around back. Just joined site so will try to get some pics up soon.

Add more polycarb to an already killer looking RC, sounds silly to me. Let's see this Jeep body ^^!

No need to be forgiven Mac, anyone who's seen your builds surely knows its a valid point of view It would be cool to see what somebody comes up with if they choose this route though. I think the body is a bit wide in its current proportions to pull off that look, but somebody will do it, make it look good and prove me wrong Standing by! |

Hack up a Thunder Tiger Jackel body? Personally, I'm tired of wrecking lexan bodies every 6 months, the flat panels are a nice reprieve. |

Jackal is 1/10 scale, like an Associated b4 buggy, a tiny thing. Not Lexan, I am talking an aluminum body, they hold up rather well and are relatively easy to repair/fix when damaged. As for the flat panels, put some dimension and shape into the vehicle, just like the 1:1s. Barndogs panels in post #9 with the front sealed look cool for flat panels. Looks more like the real deal. |

The majority of 1:1 4400 trucks have flat panels and a simple hood. Making it look more like a trail jeep or stock Tacoma is an entirely different thing. The Yeti Raptor body would probably fit just fine, it is a little wide at the cowl on a Wraith. All of the aluminum bodies are flat with very little dimension or shape, just like the real trucks. |

I'm using a different vendor for almost every panel of mine - AMF SS skid & Deluxe aluminum hood & aluminum rear panel with tow hook, CarterFab full aluminum sides (they wrap around the rear corners & go up to the roof on the rear sides) & aluminum internal front fender panels, WertyMade aluminum electronics plate, and either a DMG aluminum roof with tubular steel lightbar protector or that same lightbar protector attached to a T-Bone Racing delrin roof panel... My other Bomber build doesn't use the Bomber cage - it uses the Xtreme Racing carbon fiber chassis rail kit, and since the wheelbase is so insanely long I'm using a Proline GMC Topkick body meant for a HPI Savage XL. But, none of that matters - since I'll probably never get around to building either one. |
