Default RR10 kit general build questions

Hey Guys - I'm a relative newbie. Dabbled a bit a few years ago and now getting back into it and can't remember a lot of what I did learn at the time.

I am building a RR10 bomber mostly for crawling. it'll see moderate abuse on a 3S. I went with a CC Mamba X and Tekin ROC412EP BL Crawler Motor 3100kv motor.

For servo I am thinking about the Savox SA1230SG Monster Torque Coreless Steel Gear Digital Servo (I have an SA 1230 in my Wraith and it's held up fine under my use).

So, that servo should do, yes? Is there a specific metal horn I need?

Now, the second question. I did a dedicated BEC on my Wraith. I see the CC Mamba X has an internal one. Is it possible to use that for this Servo? I haven't got the ESC yet but I wonder how the setup goes. DOes it have a separate power wire that comes out, does it go into the receiver? I honestly don't even remember how I wired the external one for the Wraith. I'm sure I can search it for the external one, but the CC with the internal BEC will be all new to me so any info or suggestions you all might have will be useful and helpful.

Thanks for the input and thoughts. This place has always been a wealth of info.

I have that same servo, also running a mamba with a 3200kv motor. To tell you the truth 3s us often too much. That servo is a beast. I don't think you'll have any issue. I run in it with an external bwc no prob. You will definitely need an aluminum servo horn though.

How much voltage is your receiver able to handle? I'm using the Mamba Monster X with the internal BEC set to 7.4V for my Savox 1210 servo. The receiver I'm using is the DumboRC one from Amazon that costs $30 and can handle up to 10V. So the receiver wires from the mamba and Savox 1210 go right into the receiver.

I think if your receiver can only handle low voltage you will need a BEC.

I would get the Holmes v3 servo myself. Savox is noisy. Plus the vs connects straight to battery so you don't need a bec.

Yeah, the Savox is pretty noisy. I might consider this one. How it a direct connect? I imagine you still need to splice a plug off the power wires, no?

I'll have the Mamba X so that should make the setup pretty easy.
