I'd lower that battery mount all you can. I was able to lower mine almost .5 INCH. It really helps. I like the fuel tank "look".

thanks guys, and yea...already moved the battery as the COG was far too high and kept tipping the truck. Now mount in the rear until i can afford single cells to make my own modified triple-packs on each side of the front axle. Also, looked on Ebay for this Hilux Toyota body....OUCH!! very expensive hardshell for sure. Only one dude is selling just the fr/rr shell pieces for around 60.00 right now. Hmm? is there perhaps a chaeper Toyota body that i can use for this project? again, Thanks |

yea, very easy to do! just hack off the loop-piece off the rear plastic support, turn the center shock-brace support arround, and bolt the radio box onto the center brace. This was an idea from somewhere else on RCC, so i jumped right on it. Also, lastnight i ordered: ~ 12t pinion ~ 2nd Radiobox Next, another question: I have the Venom modified Fireball 60T motor.... is this worth keeping in my rig, or should i go to a lower "Turn" motor? Still having a REAL hardtime deciding on a body for this thing? -------------- Just finished sealing all my electronics off using ultra-copper gasket maker. (Radio-box & ESC) as this is a high-heat gasket maker. Also, did some soldering to some spots i thought might pose an issue later on. Current pic, with battery relocated & used electrical tape to cover that nasty venom green over. Last edited by SwampDawg; 03-10-2009 at 07:05 AM. |

| Custom front steel bush guard bumper By: SwampDawg Made this up late last night/today, using weld steel for the plates and threadrod/alloy tubing for the bars. Turned out decent, but it still needs to be cleaned up as this is just after the first fitment. |

removed the custom bumper (shown above) and got myself these Prolines instead. Also got the parts for the Yota yesterday...missing 2 parts-trees but heres the progress so far tonight. Got the body halves together, cab back & windows on aswell as mounting the shell to the chassis. Now that im missing both the "N" and "M" parts trees, i cant really go any further on this build until i recieve the rest from RPP Hobby. Another thing i bumped into was the fact i dont have any screws small enough to finish it anyhow? where are these 2x10mm screws, etc found? Last edited by SwampDawg; 04-10-2009 at 07:18 AM. |
