Similar, but the TLU-01 system doesn't do receiver based actions. This also adds the ability to power the 5-LED string for roof lights, etc.

Pricing? Nevermind, just looked $115! retail... even at 50% discount one can get the 3racing unit with receiver based actions, and extra lights... hmmm....

nice to see that you even used a Tamiya plug for your 'new' product.

I don't mean to sound negitive, you (Axial) usually come out with great stuff, but this time I think you came up a bit short. Maybe this item needs to be aimed at the 'scale' rig?

You do know Axial has a scale rig too, right. I don't think this item was intended for comp crawlers..

yes, I'm aware of the scx-10. This isn't listed in the SCX-10 section, it's in the AX-10 section.

This thread is probably more suited to that crowd (scx10), or even just in the "general scale" section.

I don't know how I feel about this product anyways, I've got the 3-racing system, it came with 2 5mm white, 2 5mm rear, 4 3mm yellow, has action based lighting (turn signals, brakes, etc) and I added 2 more 5mm white, 2 more 5mm red, all for under $30. It's been working perfectly fine on my drifter, for about a year now. So for Axial to come out with it this late in the game, and at that price? I'm just wondering who at Axial HQ gave the go ahead?

I'm sure they will sell some, but I think they need to find a way to compete with the 3RAC-LEDS system (google it axial)

The only thing I see that benefit scale trucks is the 5-LED set. At least you made it compatible with the Tamiya lights, so all those guys running HiLifts will be able to use their original lights.

Come on Axial, I hope this isn't what you were referring to here.

Thats the one I have and does everything this one does for half the price. Dont even have to hook the control box up the the battery wires. It gets power from the esc.

wtf, I get emails saying there's new posts to this thread, but they disappear before I can check them.

the solid fact is that there are options out there for action based lighting, and Axial is late to the game at a price more than double other viable options. Also, maybe they can offer a deans power plug adapter, so those that aren't running Tamiya plugs can use them. (And other connectors)

The 5-Led string is cool though, I might get that to add to my 3RAC-LEDS system.

Can someone move this thread to the SCX10 section where it belongs? Edit: thanks for moving the thread.

Exactly - it won't be near that much from vendors. I'm sure Axial is aware of price points of similar systems

A very valid point. It does pay to go with a proven manufacturer. You might pay a little more, but you'll get better support. I don't have much 3Racing product experience other than my winch (which is a fantastic product so far, knock on wood) but I'm pretty sure they're in Japan.

Be it a scaler or a drifter, light systems are becoming popular. And they're just plain cool. It's good to see another player in the game if you ask me...
