Neither I or my son like the factory shocks... mostly because tuning them rather sucks IMO So we opted for some 100mm traxxas ultra BB's and use Losi 4" C springs for tuning them better. Installing a Mojave/HiLux body and retaining the bed/depth without cutting holes in that for the shock mounts... Either requires angled / \ rear shocks, a canti-lever system... or upper shock mount repositioning. My son made his own gearhead mounts initially and angled the shocks / \ accordingly. But he did not like the excessive, unrealistic articulation. Both he and I felt it was not precision enough. So I bought a Dinky cantilever kit for him to try... But he didn't want install it !? so we ended up fabricating some custom mounts instead. Leaning the Rr shocks forward makes it more progressive... so stiffer C spring out back were necessary to compensate. The higher rate C springs out back works well with the fronts. The Mojave body is held on using custom made velcro mounts... surprisingly... they secure the body fairly well. and even after some serious tumbles it has always stayed put. To me the stock shocks work great, as long as you are refilling them with oil after every few runs! I still run them on my 6x6
